Author's Point of View
Silence follows. Then, a lot more.
She sinks onto the floor.
Good lord. Why should this happen?
Ah— the awkwardness would ruin everything later.
Shoot—! Just when I get to feel comfortable with him, then this happens. AH!
...
"Young-Min, let's have dinner at 7," Jungkook's voice seeps through the adjoining door.
She takes a second to answer.
Awkwardness nudges her as she hears his voice.
"No, I've requested a dinner to be sent to my room."
Silence follows.
"Are you sure you're not too over-reacting to this? It's only just a kiss." his annoyance seeps through the door.
"What would happen if I don't stop you? What would happen if we continue? Jungkook-ssi, I believe in the sanity of marriage—and I tend to keep it that way."
A strong sound of sigh is heard behind the door. A moment later, his steps echo, leaving his room.
...
Young-Min spends the rest of the day calling his son, Hyun-Ki.
Squeals and giggles are heard when she finally reaches him. They lose the track of time when she finally looks up at her watch.
It's 11.00 p.m. Sounds of mewling and yawns finally register in her son's voice.
Finally.
She thinks.
"Goodbye, mommy. Call me tomorrow okay?" A hopeful plea is heard from him.
"Yes, I will baby. I'll call to wake you up tomorrow, okay?"
Then, sounds of wet smooches and kisses were heard to wrap up the last goodbye.
She hangs the phone up as sounds of shuffling shoes on the floor echoes through the adjoining door.
The silence awkwardness really follows the rest of that night.
...
He is on his way to knock the adjoining door when a thought making him reach for his phone instead.
Ah—Last night.
New Message.
To: Young-Min
Did you have a good sleep? –No, scratch that!
Please make sure to check your stuff. –Tsk, what is wrong with me?!
I'll wait here in the lobby. –Screw this!
...
Ding-
9 sharp.
Lobby.
Be on time.
-JungKook-
Her heart races as she acknowledges the sender.
Apparently, her heart is still not okay after trying relentlessly to sleep it through the night.
Shoot—
5 minutes after 9, Young-Min looks up when Jungkook arrives at the lobby with a square bag on his shoulders.
Hmph— Now who's late?
"The elevator's having some mechanical problem," Jungkook said like he knows what's going on her mind.
She smiles. He smiles back.
A car is already in the pathway as they get out of the hotel. Jungkook clicks the alarm, then he opens the passenger door, letting Young-Min in first.
She smiles. He smiles back.
The weather is still cold as they get comfortable in the car. The low setting of the heater is just nice to the atmosphere. Both of them wear warmer clothes as they will meet Yung Sung-Hee in the park.
Weird, as an actress she must know the consequences to be seen in public.
That's what Young-Min thought of when she first heard the setting for the interview.
