Young-Min's Point Of View (still)

"Young-Min-ya. Open the door, please. I can see your shadow from the window."

It's that familiar voice that made me open the door finally and literally hug him.

"Young-Jae-ya! Why didn't you—Where did you— How did you—" I stutter as he bear-hugs me tightly.

"Shh—Young-Min-ya. Hey—I drove here." He loosens his grip on me to look at me better.

Then, he looks around and I see him saddens. I grab his arms and take a good look at him.

"Hey, are you staying?"

"No. I'm just checking on you. You are off the radar for a month. I'm worried." His words bring comfort to me as always.

"I'm so sorry Young-Jae-ya. I wanted to call but work made me forget so. And juggling with Hyun-Ki and all." I am trying so hard to hold the tears that invade the rims of my eyes.

"Hey—Where's my precious nephew?" He said as he wanders around.

"He's in his room, asleep." Young-Jae walks to Hyun-Ki's room.

He opens the unlit room and both of us lean against the door frame.

Silence follows as we both take a full view of Hyun-Ki.

Then, it's Young-Jae who cuts the silence off first.

"I can't believe he's this big."

"Yah—Me too Young-Jae-ya. He's really talkative now and more respectful."

Young-Jae smiles as both of us watch his hairs turn silver from the moonlight.

"He did ask why he has no appa once."

"Did he and—?"

"I said he is special because he only has eomma. He saw me cry once. That kid is a mini you. He reminds me of you Young-Jae-ya. He's really that amazing and understanding." I turn my eyes to Young-Jae as I said that.

"Even when we are little you always understand me. Support me and everything. I—" my words are cut off by his sudden head on my shoulder.

"Thank you. Without you, I can't possibly endure this." I said as I lean my head on his. Minutes fly by as we stand in front of Hyun-Ki's door.

...

Grrpp—

"Hungry?" I straighten my head.

"Ye—I guess. Besides, I need to inspect your food inventory too, Young-Min-ya." He said as he walks to the kitchen.

I smile but it fades slowly as I finally register what he meant.

O—no!

"Young Jae-ya! Not my kitchen. No! You don't!" I literally run to the kitchen.

But to no prevail, Young-Jae, my so-claimed supportive and kind brother invades his head into my refrigerator.

"O—lord almighty. When did you get this?" He holds up that open tin of fried mackerels that I really love.

"Don't you know you must not freeze it in this way? And this, why are these wilted greens laying here? Don't you know how smelly it's going to be? And my goodness, do you know you not supposed to let this open?"
