Young-Min's Point Of Views
Finally, the weekend has come for me to pack my clothes and Hyun-Ki's. I filter much of his winter clothes as many of them are not fitted to his figure anymore.
I shop with him that weekend. I fuss on Hyun-Ki as I hustle and bustle him to try each winter clothes that he needs.
Ah—My baby has grown up so much.
On Sunday morning, I go around the town to tell the milkman and the newspaperman to hold off their deliveries for a week.
At 11 a.m., Mr. Dong-Gun sends us off to the airport. Luckily, I manage to pack every clothes Hyun-Ki and I have, in a big wheel-bag. A duffle bag is on my left arm as I walk to the registration with Hyun-Ki's hand in my right hand.
The line is quite long. I usher Hyun-Ki forwards.
"Wah! What a funny man!" Everyone turn to see us as Hyun-Ki points to an Asian man with a turban on his head.
I scoop him up to cover my embarrassment. Time passes by as we move forward to the register.
Hyun-Ki's weight is beginning to take a hold to my waist.
"Baby, can you stand on your own?" I turn Hyun-Ki towards me.
Tucking out his thumb from his mouth, he pouts. "No."
"Baby, please. Mommy needs to take our tickets out, okay." It is obviously not working as he nestles closer to my neck holding his teddy-daddy on his chest.
"No,"
I sigh.
Then, I feel a tap on my left shoulder. I turn around and felt a kiss on my cheek.
"Hey! You kiss my mommy!" Hyun-Ki's shrieks are heard quite loud at the register counter. I can see everyone is smiling at us. I nestle onto Hyun-Ki's neck to cover the blush that's creeping onto my cheek.
"Sorry." Jungkook comes into view as he confronts Hyun-Ki.
"Okay." Hyun-Ki lowers his voice down while hiding in the crooks of my neck.
Finally, it is our turn to register our stuff.
"Baby, can you please get down for a sec? Mommy wants to take our tickets." I said as I tell Hyun-Ki off once more, trying to take the tickets from my duffle bags,
"No," He said while still sucking his thumb.
"Let me," Jungkook said as he takes Hyun-Ki over from my embrace.
"Take my ticket and register mine too. I deal with the wonder boy." Jungkook hands me his ticket and held Hyun-Ki to his side.
Now, it is such a turntable for Hyun-Ki. He is seen weighing in whether to cry or not to the situation. Suddenly, Jungkook winked at him, giving his ear to ear smile. Then, Hyun-Ki starts to giggle.
The sounds made me turn after handing our tickets to the officer.
"Why are you laughing?"
"Like me," Hyun-Ki's chubby finger points and stabs to Jungkook's upper cheek.
It's his scar.
"He got the same spot from falling while cycling. Long story, I'll tell you someday." Then I turn to Hyun-Ki.
"Hyun-Ki, say thank you to Jungkook. He's the one who gave you the teddy boy."
Hyun-Ki's eyes twinkle as he acknowledges that.
"Thank you," He said softly while hiding in Jungkook's neck.
"Thank you, Uncle Jungkook." I correct him.
Hyun-Ki stops and looks at Jungkook.
"Daddy Jungkook!" And that makes me sputters.
"No! No! It's Uncle Jungkook." I stutter at Hyun-Kin's antics.
"I'm so sorry Jungkook-ah. It's a kink of his lately. He even called the old milkman, daddy. That man is already a grandfather. It doesn't mean anything but, you kids nowadays, ow." I give a box smile while desperately trying to explain the situation.
However, I stop as I look at Jungkook beaming at the situation.
"Tsk—It's really doesn't mean a thing Jungkook-ah. Don't make a big deal out of it."
"I didn't do anything or saying anything. Why would I make a big deal out of it?" Jungkook repeats the same quotes from me while still smiling.
I chuckle as I usher our bags into the conveyer belt.
This is interesting.
...
Being inside the airplane making me feel sleepy. The tiredness from having to pull everything off today finally takes a toll off me. It's a good thing though, that we are going to sit in the aisle area. Hyun-Ki seems to enjoy himself on Jungkook's arms.
Obviously, he never takes off from his embrace since the first time Jungkook holds him at the registration. He even shoves my hands when I try to take him from Jungkook's arm.
O—boy.
Jungkook mouths a 'never mind' as he notices it.
Everyone looks at us, smiling as we enter the airplane with me behind Jungkook.
"Welcome to the airplane. Have a nice trip with your beautiful family, sir." A flight attendant beams at us. I begin to correct them but Jungkook cuts me to it and smiles as he drags my hand to our seats.
Tsk.
At our seats, Hyun-Ki is jumping his butts off the seat.
"No, Hyun-Ki. Stop." I said as I hold on to Hyun-Ki's thigh. Obviously, it does not work as it is his first flight experience. Everything excites him. Not only him but another kid at the back. They are doing 'peekaboo' to each other.
"Hyun-Ki. Stop. Let's sleep." I said while patting his back sleepily.
"Hey Young-Min-ya, why don't you sleep? I take care of the wonder boy." Jungkook looks at me while holding Hyun-Ki's back who is still playing 'peekaboo' with the kid at the back.
"Are you sure, he's still excited you know?" I said to Jungkook as Hyun-Ki's chatting with the kid.
"Ye, I am sure. You look tired and sleepy. Let me." Jungkook tells me as I heard Hyun-Ki's conversation.
"Where you go?" Hyun-Ki asks while standing up to catch a closer look at his new friend.
"Seoul."
"Who's that?" He points to the man sitting beside the boy.
"My daddy."
A silence follows. My eyes are getting droopy but I can see Hyun-Ki turns to Jungkook. Sitting on his lap.
He touches and pulls Jungkook's chin.
"You're my daddy."
"No, he's not," I said as my eyes fighting to stay awake.
"You're my daddy aren't you?"
Silence follows. Then, I sleep it through— without knowing the answer.
The answer from Jungkook.
