Present day...
Author's Point of View.
Jungkook had climbed up the stairs to where Hyun-Ki's room was. Young-Min was downstairs, sitting at the counter. She just decided to trust Jungkook to tuck Hyun-Ki to sleep.
Young-Min fidgeted at the counter. Suddenly she felt nervous looking around Jungkook's house. She had a brain fart, not knowing where to go. She wanted to go upstairs but Jungkook was still there. She was in the middle of going off to the seaside when she heard the soft sound of footsteps upstairs.
She looked up and Jungkook approached the front door.
"Want to walk with me?"
Young-Min was in the middle of planning to go upstairs. She was weighing whether to say no to his invitation. But it seemed rude as they were not even arguing that bad.
"Okay." She replied slowly while approaching him.
He walked a bit away from her since their paces are at different speed. She could see him in the great distance as he finally stops at the shoreline.
It took a while for her to finally reached him. She closed her eyes as she sat on the sand beside him.
The sea breeze was cold and she gladly pats herself at the back for wearing her jacket tightly on hers. Jungkook was in his thick sweater under his jacket and not bothered to the cold breeze either.
The silence slithered between them for like a half hour. Young-Min opened her eyes and decided to be brave.
"So, how's the date with So-Young?" she asked simultaneously, and they both laughed.
The fragility of the moment shattered, and now they were on an easier footing.
"I'm afraid, I annoyed and irritated her. She wasn't too thrilled hearing us going for the second interview." He grinned having chosen to answer her question.
Both of them smiled and set their eyes on the waves.
"You have such amazing home, Jungkook-ah."
"Thanks. I choose this place on purpose. I love the beach and I love sand too." Jungkook closed his eyes as he displayed such pride to his home.
"And I'm sorry about that time." Jungkook looked at his side.
Young-Min showed a smile, still staring at the waves.
"What did So-Young said about Hyun-Shik?" Jungkook seemed surprised by the sudden mention of her husband but, since Young-Min was still staring at the wave, he answered her nonetheless.
"Only that you are divorced."
Jungkook could see Young-Min smiled.
"Actually, it's not true. He died. He died of cancer."
Jungkook's hands went into his stomach and stayed there.
"I imagine he never saw Hyun-Ki?"
"No, I was in a few months pregnant when he died."
"It's a shame that your husband missed knowing he had a son."
"Hyun-Shik didn't want children." Her voice shifted gears into false brightness.
"He hated any mess. I dare say Hyun-Ki would have been sent to a nursery if he had lived."
"Everything in his had to be neat and tidy, and he expected everyone to be one like him too. To be blunt..." Young-Min paused.
