I open Daniel and Jack's bedroom door slowly and quietly to avoid waking them. Once the door is securely shut, I tiptoe past Daniels bed and his supposedly sleeping figure.
"Why are you awake?" Daniels voice from behind my back makes me jump in surprise. I smack his arm.
"You're gonna wake Jack! Shhh!" Daniel just stares at me and says, "Off with Jonah again?" All the blood drains from my face and I wince.
"How did you know?"
Daniel sighs. He's silent for a few seconds before he adds, "Damn. He really does get all the girls doesn't he." Daniel says it simply as if he really believes he never had a chance. I debate whether to be honest with Daniel or to keep my growing feelings for Jonah a secret.
"Not necessarily," I say, choosing honesty. "I kind of like him too." Daniel doesn't respond with words, just a quiet scoff. I peek at his blank face, trying to read his mind. Why isn't he saying anything? Is he... jealous?
Finally, Daniel replies saying, "We should
both get some rest. It's late."
"Daniel... I.." He stops me with an annoyed, "It's fine" and I stop, staring.
"You're right. Goodnight, Daniel." I receive a quick glance as he retreats back under his covers. When i'm sure he's already asleep, i'm taken by surprise when Daniel whispers, "Goodnight Em."

Sunlight floods into my face as I open my eyes. I check my phone to see that it's only 9 am, and I scan the room around me. Daniel is sprawled across his bed fast asleep, but Jacks bed is empty and beautifully made. I tiptoe past Daniel out the bedroom door, and down to the kitchen where I can hear the hushed voices of Jack and Jonah.
"Bro, I think I want to ask Emma out. Do you think I should?" I duck behind a wall and listen intently for Jacks reply.
"Definitely, she's awesome Jo." I can hear Jonah let out a deep breath of air as he says, "Okay. I'm going to ask her after breakfast." I can hear the excitement in Jonah's voice and my stomach begins to flutter. I sneak back up the stairs and back into Daniel and Jacks room. I grab my clothes from yesterday and head into the bathroom to put them back on. I neatly stack Jonah's clothes on the bathroom counter and comb my hands through my long brown waves. I tiptoe past Daniel once more, walking down the stairs slightly less quiet so that Jonah and Jack can hear me coming. I round the wall into the kitchen to where Jonah and Jack are quietly sipping their coffee and browsing their phones.
"Hey guys," I say with a small smile. Jonah's face lights up when he sees me and he hopes off his seat to grab me a cup of coffee.
"Good morning," Jack says with a small smirk as he looks from me to Jonah. I pretend not to notice Jacks subtle hint, and I take a seat on one of the stools. Jonah sets the coffee in front of me and says, "We usually don't wait for everyone to eat breakfast because Corbyn and Zach are never awake before noon, so we can help ourselves."
"Sounds great. Thanks again for letting me crash here last night." Jack and Jonah both smile this time and Jacks replies, "You are always welcome here. That is if you ever want to come back." I laugh and say, "Staying here wasn't that bad." Jonah smiles shyly at me.
"I'm going to run upstairs and find the pop tart box that Daniel stole. I'll be right back." He takes off up the stairs, leaving Jack and I alone.
"So, you and Jonah huh?" There's a smug grin on Jacks face.
"What? No..." I don't even convince myself with that argument so I say, "I mean even if I did have feelings for him I don't think he would feel the same or be interested..." Jack gives me a look like are you kidding me?
"Emma, i've never seem Jonah so in love." A small smile creeps onto my lips.
"I think I... I think I love him too." Jack takes a long sip of his coffee before responding with a reassuring smile.

As Jack and I were waiting for Jonah to return, I received a call from my mom. I went outside to the pool area to take the call, listening to my moms concerns about spending too much of my time with five celebrity boys who "probably want to get in my pants". I don't mention Jonah to my mom, as the last thing I need is another judgment about my choices.
"Bye mom, I'll see you later tonight," I say hanging up.
I walk back into the house, searching for Jonah.
"Is he still upstairs?" I look over at Jack who is still comfortably lounging in his chair with his coffee.
"Yep. Haven't seen him."
"Huh," I say sliding next to Jack. I'm about to ask Jack if he thinks Jonah's okay when he comes around the corner.
Jonah's eyebrows are pinched together in concern, and I notice he doesn't have the pop tart box.
"Are you okay Jo?" He looks in my direction and says, "What? Of course... yeah."
"Uh okay great," I say skeptically. I take another glance at Jonah, watching as his face turns from concern to not expressions at all.
"Jo wh..." I'm cut off by Daniel cruising into the kitchen. "Hey guys," he says opening the fridge to grab some strawberry yogurt. He takes the container and a spoon and sits on my other side, flashing me a small smile.
As we eat conversation seems normal and light, but I still glance at Jonah's care free face every once and awhile, as I remember his face as he came downstairs.
