Later that day I'm sitting on the deck of the boys house with Zach and Corbyn playing Monopoly.
"You should stay for a couple more days Em," Zach says smiling at me.
I look down at my toes debating an answer. Do I tell them I'm thinking about staying for the rest of the summer?
"Maybe..." I say quietly. Corbyn and Zach both look at me funny.
"What's up with you Emma? You've been acting weird today," Zach says sympathetically.
"Nothing." Corbyn and Zach both give me pointed looks.
"Something is definitely bothering you. Just tell us," Corbyn says placing his hand on my back comfortingly.
I sigh and say, "It's Jonah. I thought he liked me but I don't know anymore. He's ignored me all day today and when I tried to talk to him he didn't seem into the conversation." I'm
surprised by how easily the words tumble out of my mouth.
"If you have feelings for Jonah Em you need to tell him," Zach says holding my hand.
"Agreed," Corbyn comments. I smile at both of the boys that I have come to truly love and appreciate.
"You're right. I'll go find him before I let my nerve down," I say running off across the yard. As I go Zach and Corbyn yell, "You can do this!"
I reach the back door and I walk inside searching for Jonah. On my way out of the kitchen I run into Jack coming back from lunch with his sisters.
"Hey Em," Jack says with a smile.
"Hi. Have you seen Jonah?" A slight smirk appears on Jacks face as he says, "I'm not positive but I would guess in his room."
"Thanks!" I give Jack a quick kiss on the cheek and I bound up the stairs to Jonah's closed door.
I don't hear his TV- as he might be asleep- so I quietly open the door and walk inside of the large room.
That's when I see him. Well, part of him. The other half of his body is underneath a beautiful blonde girl, who appears to be sucking his face off.
I don't mean to, but a gasp escapes my mouth. Jonah turns his head and makes eye contact with me- a panicked look taking over his face.
"Uhhh.. um... sorry," I say turning back towards the door. Jonah leaps up and shuts his door right in my face, leaving me in the hallway alone. I stare at the wall- stunned- tears beginning to build in my eyes. I swiftly walk to Jack and Daniels room where I fall onto my bed and burst into tears. I cant believe I was foolish enough to think that Jonah Marais would be interested in an average looking girl from Colorado, when he could have a beautiful supermodel from Los Angeles. I shouldn't of let myself get so attached to the idea of Jonah, because the pain of heartbreak stings like no other pain can. Right in the center of the heart.

I must have fallen asleep crying, because I wake up around 6 pm on my bed with puffy eyes and a soggy pillow case. I rub my swollen eyes and search the room until I spot Daniel sitting on Jacks bed quietly on his phone. He notices me watching him and says, "Sorry, did I wake you?"
"No," I reply embarrassed, my cheeks heating up. My mind spins as I replay what happened with Jonah over and over until I can no longer bare it. Tears begin to spill out of my eyes again.
"Are you okay Em? What happened?"
All I manage to say before i'm sobbing is, "Jonah...." Daniels face breaks and I can tell he feels my pain.
"Emma I'm so sorry. You deserve someone who will treat you like a princess."
I bleakly stare up at Daniel through my tears and say, "I really appreciate that. Its kind of funny, I feel like i've known you my entire life. We just get along so well..." I smile and he responds, "I feel the same way."
"I think i'm going to head downstairs to eat something. I cant just sit here and feel bad for myself."
"I'll come with you," Daniel says opening the bedroom door for me.
We turn the corner into the kitchen to find all four of the other boys at the dining room table looking at something on Corbyn's laptop.
Zach notices us first and says, "Hey guys, we were just about to order some chinese- you guys in?"
"Heck yeah," I say with a smile. Daniel laughs from behind me and says, "I'm always in for chinese."
The other boys gazes find Daniel and I standing together, except for Jonah's. I guess his way of forgetting the past is by shutting me out of his life completely. I really thought he was more of a gentleman than this.
"Come sit down Emma," Zach says pulling up a chair for me. I take a seat next to him and Daniel, and let Jonahs lack of acknowledgement towards me roll off my shoulders.
