The Risk of Falling in Love: A Jonah vs. Daniel Fanfiction

Chapter 21

I glance at our intertwined hands, unsure what to think.
Then, Jonah places one of his hands on my jaw, pulling me gently towards him.
I'm too stunned to move, so I just stare into his beautiful blue eyes.
"I love you too, Emma," Jonah says- a small smile spreading onto his lips.
I can feel the tears starting to form in my eyes.
"I know we're young," Jonah adds. "But I feel, from the bottom of my heart, that you Emma Kerry, are my person. The one I want to spend the rest of my life with, and that... that doesn't really scare me anymore." Jonah breaks into a smile, and the tears start to trickle down my cheeks. Jonah slides his thumb gently over my cheek, wiping away my tears.
"I'm not scared either." I say- placing my hand over top of his.
Jonah leans towards me, and I follow the action.
Our lips connect, softly.
'This feels so right' I think to myself, running my hands through Jonah's soft hair.
When we finally break apart, Jonah grabs my hand, leading me slowly back to the car.
I help him into his seat, and we drive back home hand in hand.

8 Months Later:
"I'll text you everyday, okay?" Jonah tells me as he grabs his suitcase- placing it in the car.
"Okay," I repeat, giving him a big hug.
Jonah and the boys will be on tour for the next two months, so I won't see him for awhile.
"I'll miss you so much," I add, kissing Jonah's cheek.
"I'll miss you more," he says snaking an arm around my waist.
"Jonah!" Jack yells from the car. "We have to go!"
"That's your cue," I say with a sad smile.
"Bye beautiful," he says kissing me one last time.
As Jonah climbs into the car, I wave with a smile plastered on my face.
Once I know he can no longer see me, I finally break into tears.
The last 8 months have been the best of my entire life. Jonah and I have grow really close- close enough that we recently moved in together. Even though we haven't been together very long, we have started to talk about what the future holds, like marriage.
When I look at Jonah, I can see the life I only picture with him. A couple of kids, in our own house, loving each other more and more each day for the rest of our lives.
We haven't spent any time apart since we got together- Zach refers to us as "the inseparables".
This time apart will definitely test the strength of our relationship, but I know we'll be okay.
"Em, come back inside," Christina, Corbyns longtime girlfriend says to me.
Christina and I have grown to be close, as we spend a lot of time at shows, rehearsals, and events together.
Christina and Corbyn live in the same apartment complex as us- only a few doors down, so we keep each other company when the boys are busy.
"I'm coming," I say, taking one last look down the street.
I follow Christina inside to her apartment.
"Want to spend the night?" She asks plopping down on the couch.
"Sure." I take a seat next to her, flipping the t.v on.
"Let's watch the Bachelor!" Christina exclaims.
I turn it on, and we curl up under a blanket.
We watch the Bachelor for a couple hours, until we both get bored. I find Stranger Things on Netflix- our favorite show- and I turn it on.
"I'm really going to miss Jonah," I mumble during the intro.
Christina squeezes my hand and replies, "It gets easier each time they leave. I used to have a hard time when Corbyn and I first started dating too."
I nod.
"Do you think he'll miss me as much as I miss him?" I blurt out suddenly.
"What?" Christina asks looking at me funny. "Em, Jonah is head over heels for you. He's probably thinking about you right now."
I laugh, and as if Christina can predict the future, my phone rings- Jonah's face popping onto the screen.
"JoJo!" I say excitedly.
"Hey, baby! I miss you already!"
"I miss you too. Where are you right now?"
"We just landed in Chicago. Our show is in a couple of hours."
"Have fun tonight, JoJo," I reply- a smile creeping onto my lips.
"Thanks baby. I'll call you tomorrow okay?"
"Okay, I love you."
"I love you too. So much."
We hang up, and I focus my eyes back on the t.v.
"You guys are so cute," Christina whispers.
I can't help but smile.
