LESEDI POV

Dinner was over. Now I was getting nervous.

Heimdall clinked his stone chalice as one would a gavel. Silence spread through the dining hall.  "As always, I am happy to see you all here this night. We should always be grateful for each day." He cleared his throat. "As you know, Thor has unmasked Loki's disguise as our King Odin."

"Any word from Odin?"

"What about Ragnarock?"

"Where is Thor?"

"We have no news, but I have come to an agreement with Lady Lesedi--"

"Lady Lesedi?!"

"She's not even Asgardian!"

Heimdall raised a hand. "If Asgard comes under attack, we must find the Asgardian retreat, and Lady Lesedi is our best chance at that--"

"You really believe that--"

"How can she--"

"She hasn't even been here long--"

"She can do it!" All turned to Sif. "I have seen her power."

More murmurs rose.

Dado snorted, throwing his sword business end into the floor. "Let's see this power!"

I had already begun concentrating. Steven looked at me, his eyes glowing white. Children closest to him began to back away. I shook my head subtly, and he stopped. I didn't want them to know about him.

I usually didn't talk when I used my powers. My voice sounded weird, had echoes, a different dialect of sorts. It began to rain inside the dining hall, a light shower that didn't make a mess. Sounds of amazement echoed, and then I froze the center fires. The women began to gasp.

"Is it burning inside?" Dado unashamedly began to investigate the fire. He could see it burning inside.

"Until the inside air dies out."

All turned to me wide-eyed. I hadn't meant to speak. In seconds I stopped the shower, and broke the ice with a touch. THe fire crackled and then returned to normal, able to breathe again.

"Heh, a parlor trick!" Dado laughed, but I could tell he didn't believe that. He wanted to see more.

I closed my eyes and sent a small funnel to pull Dado's sword from the ground. It twirled in front of him. "I can do this, but I do not have the ability and talent with it as you do, your men do." I let go of the weapon and he caught it. "If Ragnarock is coming, and Thor or Odin does not come in time to assume duties and save us all, we need to work together to survive."

Rumblings came from the crowd. I searched the faces of the crowd, especially of the Council.

Heimdall stood next to me. "I side with the Steward of Asgard."

"She speaks sense," Erik nodded.

Keldan nodded also. "We must make preparations."

Frode nodded. "A second plan could never hurt."

"Will you work to serve Asgard?" Heimdall asked the people.

"Aye!" one section raised their swords.

"Aye!" another section raised their hands.

"Aye!" finally a section raised their fists.

Children began to crowd Steven. It looked like he had people of his own to worry about.

"Should we tell them of Hela?" I whispered to Heimdall.

"No matter for now," Heimdall replied. "Hela or Ragnarock, we need to find that place and be ready."
