LESEDI POV

I felt more like a lab rat than anything.  We went through so many scanners, had all kinds of specimens collected. Steven and I had to almost throw a fit to keep Brooklyn in our sights. We were afraid for him.

The woman who kept running tests on us was pretty, but I saw a very analytical mind through those eyes of hers. In a way she reminded me of Tony Stark. People were calling her "highness" and such, so even though she was a scientist, she was of importance.

Steven and I decided to talk to each other as we went through analysis.

"Tell me about when Uncle Thor and Dad fought together."

I froze. I saw Shuri slow her movements. "They always fought along with Iron Man, Hawkeye, Hulk and Black Widow, but once it was just them fighting. Your uncle would shoot lightning at your father's shield and he could direct it. That was when your dad got hit with a laser. He heals really well, but there is still a small scar on his abdomen and lower chest." I looked down at him. "He sustained some scratches when he was in Jotunheim, rescuing me--"

"What--"

"Now you know I wasn't there for the battle against the frost beast, but Thor told me he was exceptionally brave, then, too--" I smiled down at him. "Just like you are now."

"Nothing hurts, Mom."

"I know, but you're being brave, just the same."

"What is your full name?" Shuri asked Steven.

"Steven Phillip TaKari Rogers."

"Your father is...Steven Rogers?"

Steven looked at me, and then at Shuri. "Yes."

"How old are you?"

"Six."

"Six?"

"Almost."

Just then, a man came in. He had long hair and a beard with one arm. One arm...that jolted my memory.

"Good morning," he said bowing to Shuri. "Here for my checkup."

She gestured to an examination table and he went and sat down. He did a double take at me.

I stared at him. Steve's best friend. "You're...Barnes?"

He stilled. "Yes?"

I could have been knocked over with a feather. "My father told me about you--"

"You said your father was Loki!" Shuri exclaimed.

"But the man who raised me was Phil Coulson." Saying his name made my heart wince. I still missed him. It felt like all I did was miss loved ones sometimes.

"Oh, my God," Bucky shook his head. "Is your name...Sedi?"

"You've seen Steve?" A lump formed in my throat immediately, affecting my voice as I spoke. "Is he alright? Where is he?"

"Enough!" Shuri's outburst brought quiet to the whole lab. All that could be heard was machines running. "You are all clear of quarantine. Your escorts will be here shortly."

I began to panic. I needed more information. "Bucky, he told you about me?"

He laughed, relaxing visibly when I used his nickname. "Of course, but how did you get here?" He asked, shaking his head. "He left you on Asgard!"

"Asgard is gone," I shook my head.

"Wait, like gone gone?"

"That's what I'm saying, totally blown away, engulfed in flames."

"You escaped."

"Yes--"

Suddenly, the guards appeared, and all conversation halted.

"We have been summoned to take you to the counsel." One of the guards in front said.

"Where's Brooklyn?" I asked.

"Where's my shield?" Steven asked.

Shuri handed the dog to Steven. "Weapons will remain here for safe keeping." She handed Brooklyn to him.  He looked tired and out of it. "He had to go through tests and get shots."

Steven didn't like that answer. "I want my shield."

"We'll get it later, I promise." I told him.

Steven gave Shuri a warning look, took my hand and let me lead him away.
