Chapter 36

Jakie POV

"WATCH OUT!" I scream and Emily looks up just in time to swerve out of the way. Her head lolls to the side and I grab the steering wheel just as we're about to hit another car. Slowly, I pull over to the side of the road. Peter rushes out of the middle row to grab Emily as I open the door. He picks her up bridal style and carries her to his seat. He sits her up and buckles her in and he buckles up so quickly and I'm in shock of what just happened.

"Jakie, do you want me to drive?" He asks slowly as if he's talking to a 4-year-old.

"Yeah," I say and my voice wavers a little. He hops out of the shotgun seat and we trade places quickly as to get Emily home.

"What happened?" Jo asks from the back.

"We almost crashed and Emily passed out," I lean my head against the cool glass of the window.

"Hey, it's okay," Peter soothes entwining our hands together.

"But is it?" I reply, turning my head so that it's still against the window but I'm looking at Peter.

"Yes. Emily will be fine; we'll get Dean back; everything's gonna go back to normal," He says and blows me a kiss before turning back to the road.

We get back to the house and Sam carries Emily to her room before coming back downstairs and cuddling on the couch with Jo. Peter and I head to the kitchen to find Cas sitting there looking sad.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"I miss Dean," He admits and sighs.

"Us too, buddy. Us too," Peter exhales and we sit down beside him.

"Where's Emily?" He asks suddenly, standing up and looking around the kitchen to see if she's hiding in a corner.

"She's in her room. She has something to tell you when she wakes up," I say.

"Why's she asleep? It's only 3:00 in the afternoon." He questions looking at the clock on the stove.

"She passed out, still asleep," he walks off into her room with us on his heels.

 Cas touches her forehead and her eyes flutter open.

"What happened?" She asks sitting up slowly.

"You passed out. Peter drove home." I explain and sit down at the foot of her bed.

She falls back onto the pillows and I think she's passed out again but she speaks, "I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have looked down at my lap. I'm so sorry!"

"Hey, hey, hey. It's okay. We're all okay," I prod and she gasps in realization.

"Today, I found out that I'm having twins!" She cheers and a look of shock passes across his features but before Emily could register it, it changes to happiness.

"I'm so... Congratulations," He says and gives her a hug.

"Thanks," She says with a small smile. "You okay? You look sad."

"I'm fine. Just glad you're all okay," He smiles but it doesn't reach his eyes.

Something's up with him. I telepathically tell her but she doesn't respond. Hello? Earth to Emily! EMILY!

WHAT?! She replies in an annoyed tone.

"Can you not hear me or something?" I ask offended.

"Not until you screamed in my head!" 

"Weird," I exclaim. 

"You two are such girls!" Peter complains and Cas just looks at us with a dumbstruck expression on his face.
