"That's it for today, class." The teacher said, ending his long lecture. I let out a deep breath, let my head lay on the table for a second before sitting up again. I picked up my notebook and stuffing it in to my bag. I looked besides me to see Zayn doodling in his notebook.

"Oh wow."

He looked up and locked eyes with me, then looked back at his notebook to see his doodles. "Thanks, I guess." He said, letting out a chuckle and then closing his notebook, slipping it in to his backpack. I just realised the backpack was covered with buttons and more doodles, making it so unique.

"You're pretty creative." I said, pointing at his bag. "Yeah, I like that kind of stuff." He said, zipping his bag up. I smiled, walking in front of him.

"Any plans for the rest of the day?" He asked while we walked towards the door. "I'm having lunch with my brother and a friend right now. You're free to join." I said, seeing Liam and Niall standing across the hall. Zayn stared at me and then at Liam and Niall, raising one of his eyebrows whilst a small smirk appeared on his face.

"Wait, what's your last name?" He asked while following me. "Payne, why?" I said, chuckling. "Nothing." He said, following me to my brother and Niall.

I smiled at Liam and Niall who looked up at me, their smiles fading once they saw Zayn. Did they know each other by chance? "What-" Liam started saying but I cut him off. "This is Zayn, we met today." I said, pointing at Zayn who quietly stood next to me, looking at Liam and Niall while a small smile played on his lips.

"Yeah we-" Niall started saying whilst Zayn took his hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you." Zayn replied, letting go of Niall's hand and shaking Liam's hand. "Hey, do you want to join us for lunch?" I asked, turning towards Zayn. He smiled for a second, shaking his head. "I actually already have plans, thanks for asking." Zayn said, putting his hand on my shoulder and then walking off.

"Well then, let's go." I smiled at Liam and Niall who just quietly nodded and stared at Zayn who walked the other way. "He's pretty cool, I think the tattoo's are a little misleading." I said, not even looking at them anymore. "He makes amazing drawings." I said while we walked out of the building.

I followed Niall and Liam to Niall's car, seeing Harry leaning against the side. "Sup lady," he chuckled, giving me a hug once I was close enough. "Didn't know you were joining us." I said, but happy he did. "I mean, we're talking about food here." He laughed while opening the door for me, I slipped in and waited for all of them to sit down.

The drive was silent, there was a slight tension but I had no idea why. Liam and Harry were both on their phones in the backseat, making me a little annoyed, hoping they wouldn't do that during lunch. After a short drive, Niall parked the car in a small parking lot and we walked in to a small café.

We walked in and I looked around. The walls were covered in wood, just like the floor. There were some booths and a lot of normal tables. It had a really cozy vibe, which made me feel pretty comfortable. I looked back at the sign which read 'Joe's Cup'. I made a note to remember how we got here so I could get lunch again.

I followed Liam who made his way to the back and slipped in to one of the booths. I sat down next to Harry whilst Liam and Niall sat opposite from us.

"So." Harry started talking when the waiter came over.

"Welcome to Joe's Cup, I'm Jordan, your waiter for today. Can I get you guys something to drink?" Jordan asked and I thought about it, realising I really didn't have to think about it for that long. "Iced tea please." It was basically the only thing I drank on schooldays besides water and coffee. The boys all gave their orders and Jordan left again, leaving us in a short silence.

"What were you trying to say?" I asked Harry who looked up from his phone. "Are you guys going to sit with your phones the entire time?" I then asked, looking at Niall and Liam who were also typing stuff on their phones.

"Sorry." Liam said, putting his phone back in his pocket. "Of course we won't do that." He said, staring at Niall and Harry who both shrugged and did the same, putting their phones away.

"Here are your drinks." Jordan came walking over with a tray that had our drinks on it. I thanked him, just like the boys did. "Have you guys made a choice yet about what you wanted to eat?" He then asked, I stared at the boys who shook their heads. They were too busy with their phones to look at the menu. I had already read it and knew exactly what I wanted.

"I'll get back to you in a few minutes." Jordan said, showing me a small sympathetic smile to me and then walking off.

The boys scanned through the menu for the next minutes. "Would you all hate me if I got ten spicy chicken wings for lunch?" Niall looked up, his cheeks getting pink. I chuckled, "Niall, just get what you want." I laughed, patting his hand a few times. He stared at me, a smile on his face. He looked back at the menu and started reading the side dishes.

Harry was staring at the salads and Liam was somewhere in between looking at sandwiches.

I scanned over the menu again, since I had nothing else to really do. After a few minutes they all had made their choice, Jordan walked back over and we all ordered our food. He walked off again and we were left in a short silence.

"So, how did you like your first day?" Harry asked, laying his arm on the back rest behind me while staring at me. "I liked it, the first two lectures were pretty interesting." I said, thinking about everything I had already learned even though it had only been two classes yet.

"Did you make any new friends?" Harry then asked.

"Friends not really, there is this one guy that is pretty nice to me, we sat together today." I started telling them. "I don't know, he's a little different from the others. He actually is redoing the year, which is probably why he was doodling in to his notebook through the entire class. He also had the most amazing tattoo's, just like the doodles he made in his notebook. But your tattoo's are cooler, Harry, don't worry." I chuckled, poking him on the place where he had a butterfly tattoo on his chest, making him grin.

"Cool, what was his name?" Harry asked, furrowing his eyebrows.  "Zayn." I said, which made him tense up a bit. I stared at Niall and Liam who had the slight same expression on his face.

"Why? What's wrong?" I asked him. Harry took his arm back, laying it on the table and staring at my brother. "Do you know him or something?" I asked, staring at him. He took a breath and then spoke again.

"Not really, I've seen him around a couple of times." He said. I nodded, made sense, if they were both freshmen last year. "I have heard some things about him though." He said, making Liam and Niall furrow their eyebrows. "What do you mean?" I asked Harry, looking at him like he now had to explain everything to me.

"I don't know, I just heard he's not the sweetest."

"You're lying, he's one of the most kind people I've ever met."
