chapter thirty-four

I was woken up the next morning by the sound of things falling on the ground downstairs. I picked up my head to see Niall's arms were wrapped around my waist and we were cuddled up. I smiled and laid my head back down on his chest, making circles with my fingers.

After a few minutes of silence I noticed Niall taking a deeper breath so I looked up and was met with his eyes. "Good morning," he smiled, making me smile back. "Morning." I said, my stare still on him. He leaned in and placed a kiss on the top of my head before laying his head back down.

The silence was not very long lasting afterwards, because after a few seconds, Harry and Liam rushed inside, followed by Ali who had a panicked look in her eyes. There was screaming and yelling coming from the hallway.

"Lock yourself in the bathroom! Now!" Liam yelled, giving me his most intimidating look. I widened my eyes and realized that my worst nightmare was happening. Niall immediately sat up, grabbing my waist and his phone. We rushed in to his bathroom and he locked the door, putting his towel rack in front of the door.

I started breathing heavily whilst I sunk down on to the ground, panicking. "Lil, we're safe here, everything is going to be fine." Niall said, rushing over to me and pulling me in to his chest. 

"Where the hell is she!" I heard yelling come from outside the door and I whimpered, hiding my face closer in to Niall's chest. 

I recognized the voice, it was one of the scariest voices I could ever think of. It made my heart skip a few beats and the tears roll down my cheeks. It was not Zayn, thankfully. "We asked where is she!" Another voice now yelled and I held my breath. 

Big Watts and Travis were in Niall's bedroom. The two best friends of my abusive ex boyfriend were in Niall's bedroom. They were looking for me, and they wouldn't leave without me. "Niall I am going to faint." I chocked out, making him widen his eyes. "No, Lily, stay with me." He said, placing his hand on my cheek.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, the tears rolling over my cheeks. I then heard a push against the bathroom door and I almost screamed out. "Lily, no, stay here." Niall repeated, making me open my eyes. "Lily don't you dare leave me, even if it is just for a second." Niall then said, I looked up to see there were a few tears around his eyes now as well.

I looked straight in to his eyes and nodded, breathing heavily for a while. The kicking and knocking on the bathroom door was getting louder and heavier the longer we waited. "Niall they will not leave, they'll hurt everyone we love." I said, crying loudly.

"We will not leave without you, you bitch!" Travis yelled before kicking the door again. "They can fight for themselves, Lily, they'll already working on it." Niall told me and I nodded, he was kind of right. "And the person I love most in this house is currently sitting in my lap so of course I am going to protect you." Niall then said, making me stare at him with my eyes widened.

"You love me?" I said, so confused. "Yes, Lily, I love you. And I do not care if you don't say it back." Niall said, talking very self-assured. "Niall of course I love you too." I said. And for a second, the kicking, screaming and yelling all faded away and I grabbed Niall's face, placing my lips on top of his, kissing him passionately.

All of a sudden we heard a very loud crash and afterwards the yelling got louder. Niall and I broke apart and then we heard all our friends scream. "Louis!" I heard Ali most of everybody. Then the screaming got louder but left the bathroom door. The aggressive sounds went on for a little while until they were interrupted.

"Everybody on the ground! Now!" A male voice sounded, I widened my eyes and looked at Niall. "Who?" The same man said. I then heard Rob, and I let out a relieved breath. "Him, and him." I was crying tears of happiness when I heard Rob's voice.

"Travis La Lora, you are under arrest for harassment and abusive behavior." The man said at first. "Tony Carson, you are under arrest for abuse, invasion of private property and illegal trading and transport of drugs." The man then said and I widened my eyes. Zayn told me Big Watts was bad, very bad, but I didn't know it was this bad.

Niall held on to me tightly and we sat in silence, waiting for somebody to come and get us. "I need a paramedic at the Theta Tau Xi fraternity house." I then widened my eyes and got up. Niall grabbed my hands but let me walk away. He got up and pushed the towel rack away, unlocking the door.

I grabbed his hand and opened the door, we walked out and were met with a completely trashed room, Louis was laying on the ground and my friends were either surrounding him or sitting on the bed, staring at him. Rob came rushing over to me when he noticed we were there.

"Lily, thank God you're alright." He said, hugging me. I let another tear roll down my cheek and I hugged him back. When he let go of me again, I stared at Louis. "What happened to Louis?" I asked, walking over and staring at Ali who did not let go of his hands. "One of those guys hit his temple, I think." She said, wiping the tears.

"We're happy you are okay though." Liam immediately said, walking over to me and sitting down next to me on the ground. "I wish everybody was okay." I said, placing my hand on Louis' chest. 

We all sat there, waiting for the paramedics to show up. Eventually they came rushing in and checked out Louis. "We're taking him with us for a few check ups, just to be sure. But he's going to be alright." He said, making Rob nod.

"Anybody wants to come with him in the ambulance? There is room for one person." The paramedic said. Harry and Ali both took a step forward. Harry bit his lip and placed his hand on Ali's back, "she'll come with you guys." He said, making Ali show him a small smile.

"You guys coming with me in the car?" He asked, getting his car key out of his pocket. Liam nodded immediately, I looked at Niall who was looking around his room. Everything was completely trashed. "I think we're going to clean all of this up." I said, making Harry nod.

They all walked out of the room except Rob. He was about to leave as well when I got a text on my phone.

From Unknown Number: Running will be useless.

And then, I fainted.
