- EXTERIOR POV -
Alyssa watches Jenny and Cameron looking at each other in that same heavy silence that fell between them a few minutes ago.
A silence that says so much more that words.
Suddenly, Cameron takes his phone from his pocket again but this time isn't for him.
"Type Shawn's phone number," he holds out his phone and orders to Jenny who's looking more confused than ever. But she doesn't do anything which makes him shout at her. "Do it!"
Both of the girls jump back because of Cameron and Jenny takes the phone.
"Why do you want his phone number?" Alyssa asks but she gets no answer until Jenny gives back the phone to Cameron with the number on it.
The man seems to hesitate a bit more but then he shakes his head and shoves his phone back into his pocket.
"Take your phone, you'll call Shawn and tell him not to look for you and break up with him..." he orders Alyssa but she doesn't move.
"Why shawn though?" Jenny asks in confusion but Cameron doesn't reply and look at Alyssa.
"you maybe thought that hiding would keep Jenny far from you but you did wrong and living with him didn't help..." he chuckles and turns to Jenny. "If she's living with him, he'll be the first one noticing that she's missing"
"I won't call him, I won't do anything" she says, frowning.
"Then Liam will be happier with all the insults from his teammates and the coach... or maybe other pills would help him getting angrier..." he chuckles and crosses his arms.
This time, Alyssa couldn't contain her tears. She could do anything for the people she loves, including Shawn and Liam but she will hurt one of them which breaks her heart even more.
She looks over at Jenny which smiles weakly at her because she's sorry for what's happening. Not excepted from the devil herself... but maybe she's not that crazy.
"Don't you dare to touch him ever again," Alyssa starts with tears flowing down her cheeks and walks closer to him, her first finger pointing on his chest. "I swear, Cameron, that if anything happens to him, I'll kill you. I'm not kidding and I don't care to go to jail if it's to make the loss of an asshole like you. I swear" she cries without making any noise but threatening.
"Aly, sweetie... things already happened to him but okay, I'll remember" he chuckles but Alyssa's heart is about to stop so much it's beating fast because of the anger. "Now just call your lover"
"I won't do it" she shouts at him and pushes him with both of her hands on his chest but he doesn't move even an inch.
"Fine... Jenny, go find her brother" he says but before she could do anything, Alyssa begs her not to.
"No, Jenny please, he's only 6 and-and please don't" she stutter while crying but Cameron shouts her to shut her mouth.
"You chose, right?" He asks her one last time.
She never met someone that cruel and now she doesn't have a choice but make the call.
That's what happens when you feel happy for a moment and think that your life is perfect, everything falls appart when you except it the least. But you just gotta deal with it because, as long as you want to, you're not the master of your life.
"I'll call him" she admits almost in a whisper. "Don't touch Liam." She ends, looking at him who seems like he doesn't have any feelings, not even a heart.
Her bloodshot eyes look down at the screen of her phone and her fingers reach for her lover's number.
"You better make it seem real... it'd be sad if something bad happens to Liam, right?" He chuckles but she doesn't pay attention to him.
"Cameron... don't you see how broken she is... just let her go" Jenny tries to convince Cameron once again which makes Alyssa look up from her phone but the man doesn't say anything but keeps on staring at her.
"Do it" he orders Alyssa who's crying all the water of her body.
That's it. Here we go.
Cameron takes Alyssa's phone and raises up in front of her with the speakers, she takes a deep breath and holds back her sobs with a hand on her mouth.
Don't pick up, Shawn. Don't. She hopes deep in her because she doesn't want to do it and even though they were arguing earlier, she forgot about it... but maybe that's a reason to make it seem real.
"Lys? Where are you?? I called you so many times and the game is about to start!" Shawn says with his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He thought that she was with the coach but if he only knew...
"Shawn... I won't watch the game with you... I- I can't do this anymore... I'm sorry but maybe we're not mean to be together and I don't even love you the way I should. Not as much as you want." Alyssa lets those cruel words slip out of her mouth and, holding back her tears, she knows how hard she's breaking his heart.
On the phone, Shawn can't believe what she's saying, he didn't except this and is completely lost in his thoughts, trying to understand.
"What are you talking about? Alyssa I'm the happiest with you! You can't just end this up like that. Where are you? I thought you were only going to talk with the coach and now you're breaking up?? What's going on??" He tries to understand what she's telling him even though people around him are screaming and shouting to cheer the teams they want to win.
Warm tears flowing down her cheeks, she doesn't want this to end and she doesn't want to stay here. She has to find something he would understand. He has to look for her because she doesn't know how much time they'll keep her.
"Remember when we dealt with 'no promises', now I'm ending this. I'm ending everything..." she says almost in a whisper, looking over at Cameron and Jenny who are looking at her skeptically.
"But you said that you'll never stop with it because it started this way! Lys... I don't understand, I thought everything was going well between us... Could we please, at least, talk about this??? Where are you?" He asks but Cameron hangs up before she has the time to add anything else which brings her in a crazy anger.
"Why did you hang up?? I wanted to talk more with him!" She shouts and pushes him but the only thing he does is to throw the phone against the floor and step on it.
"Like that he can't call you" he says which makes her break down in tears.
She knows that this is the best for everyone but the thing she didn't expect is to get that hurt. She didn't except that doing something that's better for everyone could hurt them at the same time and hurt her as well. She couldn't imagine that this will happen but now it did and she can't do anything about it but hope that he'll know and understand.
Maybe that was the way they meant to end. Maybe they weren't made to stay together.
Maybe that was their destiny: being only a random relationship among so many others.
