See You Again - Niall Horan

Chapter 42

Kind of a filler chapter but I hope you like it anyway.

After a long day at school, I came home Monday and when I opened the door from the garage I yelled, “I’m home.” I heard two pairs of feet coming down the hallway towards me. One big pair and one little pair. But there was another noise. One of padded feet with some clicking on the hard floor. I hung my purse on the hook by the door and turned to find Niall with a large smile on his face. “What?” I asked him.

He only slowly looks down to his feet. That is when I found why he was so happy. There standing by his feet, along with Riley, was our new puppy. “Look what we got today.”

“I see what we got.” I crouched down to Riley’s height. “What is this Riley?”

“Puppy!” He cheered.

“It is. Does puppy have a name yet?”

“Car-lee.”

“I think you mean Charlie there bud.” Niall explained. “After they came by for the inspection and we passed they left him with us, so he’s officially ours. We are proud owners of a dog. Riley and I went through our list of names and we settled on Charlie. Hope you like it.”

“It fits him. How’s it going so far?”

“He’s been good. He and Riley have been playing most of the time until they both get tired. I found them curled up on the floor together taking a nap.” Niall showed me a picture he took of them and decided to post it online to introduce everyone to Charlie. “I’m in need of a nap now too because I’ve been running after them all afternoon.”

“Now you know what I do every day running after the two of you.”

“We aren’t that bad.”

“Yes you are.” I shot back.

“Why don’t we just order food for supper tonight so we can all play with Charlie and not spend time cooking?” Niall said trying to change the subject.

“Sounds good to me.”

“I’ll order it, you go change and we’ll go outside and play with him.” I quickly ran up our room and slipped into some sweats before I walked back downstairs.

Niall was just hanging up his phone when I walked into the kitchen. We grabbed both Riley and Charlie and took them to the backyard. We played with them outside until our food was delivered. We sat down to eat but had to watch Riley because he kept trying to slip food to Charlie because he liked when he licked his hand. Afterwards we gave Riley a bath before putting him down for the night.

Once Riley was asleep, I went to study for a while and Niall sat down on the couch with Charlie on his lap to watch a game on television. After studying for a few hours I packed up my books and computer for tomorrow and went to the living room. I found Niall and Charlie curled up on the couch together both snoring. “Boys it’s time to go to bed.” I announced. Niall opened his eyes slowly trying to blink the sleep from them and looked at me while Charlie picked his head off Niall’s lap. “Or you could sleep on couch all night while I sleep in the bed alone.”

“Defiantly going with you.” Niall stood up which caused Charlie to jump off the couch. I took him outside quick so he could go potty before we went to bed. When I came back inside Niall was heading up the stairs so we followed behind him. I thought Charlie was going to come into our room but he went the other direction once he reached the top of the stairs. I watched him walk and enter Riley’s room. I went to check on him to make sure he hadn’t woken him up. I was surprised when I found him curled up on the floor next to Riley’s crib. I decided to let him be and walked to my room and crawled under the sheets with Niall.
