Chapter 44

The year was quickly coming to a close even though we were busy as ever. I was getting ready for my final tests in less than a month, on top of trying to plan for the weddings and take care of Riley. Riley had become more mobile and was running all over the house, making it even harder to watch him. And Niall had been working with a bunch of other musicians, writing songs for the next album. Their latest album wasn’t even out yet but he was already working hard for the following one.

“Hey babe.” Niall yelled when he came home from the studio.

“What?” I yelled back.

He walked into kitchen where I was cutting some onions. “I need to talk to you about something.”

“Oh.” I answered becoming nervous.

“It’s nothing bad, you can relax.” I let out the breath I had been holding. “So the new album comes out next week.”

“Yeah I know.”

“Well we need to go on a little promotional tour for it.”

“Okay.”

“We leave next Sunday and have a few stops in Europe and they go to America for a couple of days.”

“How long are you going to be gone?” I asked.

“Only eleven days. We leave on the 30th and come back on the 10th.”

“That’s not so bad.”

“No but I know at that time you are going to be getting serious about finals so I have a proposition for you.”

“And what is that?” I wiped my hands and sat on his lap at the table.

“What would you say if I said I wanted to take Riley with me?”

“I would say you were crazy.”

“Hear me out. If I take him you won’t have to worry about me or him being around to bother you. You can spend all your time doing whatever you need to do and not on stuff for us. I know how to take care of him but Rita will be with us and the lads and everyone else can help me. It’s not like I will be completely on my own with him. And I know this will be the first time you will be away from him for more than a day but I think it will be the best for all of us. It’s not even going to be that busy of a trip. Mostly interviews during the day with a couple of performances.”

“Can I think about it?”

“Of course. We don’t need to know until the day before just so we can get a few things lined up for him.”

I thought about it for the rest of the day so when we were in bed that night I wanted to talk to Niall. “Alright so I thought about you taking Riley.”
