Just finished reading this book and I think I hate it. But I also liked it.
I liked the style of writing, texts and emails between two best friends who are going to college on opposite sides of the country.
One friend, Ava, reminds me of myself. She's shy and has several mental illnesses. Not very cultured due to her homebody tendencies.
The other friend, Gen, is bold and adventurous. In the story she comes out as gay/bi. She reminds me of my ex-best friend.Ava is insecure and clingy. Gen gets easily offended and upset. At the end of the story Gen ignores Ava for a while after they get into a fight.
The whole story/friendship reminded me of my friendship with my ex-best friend. I didn't like it. I didn't think the two girls should remain friends. Gen took Ava's loyalty for granted.
It was a nice story, but hit too close to home to fully enjoy.
Just some thoughts I needed to get out.
