(As much as I hate ruining twists, this one is rather dark, just a warning for the more sensitive readers. The prompt I believe was "trust me")
I invited him out to play, and I was so happy he accepted! He was awfully tall for a 10-year-old, so I just knew he'd be able to climb the trees with me. He says he's so much better than me because he's a year older than me, so I like to challenge him. We began climbing trees, but he always got to the top first. It's okay, though, climbing is fun! After a day of playing, he won tree climbing 10-to-0, and I challenged him to try the massive tree the neighborhood kids call "The Tree Tower". My friend gladly accepted! Though, after he reached the top and tried coming down, he got stuck. He began shouting my name, screaming, "Help me!!" I rushed beneath him and told him I'd catch him, but he was too scared to let go. I looked him in the eye with a gentle smile and said softly, "Let go. You can trust me," as I extended my arms to him. He smiled back and slowly released his supporting branch and came toppling down. I let my arms fall to my side, watching his eyes go wide as his voice caught in his throat, His body hit the ground with an audible crack and the life in his eyes stared at me with betrayal before fading as quickly. I smiled brightly and called, "Coming!" as my mom called my name to return home. I laughed, "Who's the best at tree climbing now?"
