Izuku spent a couple weeks practicing his new quirks after being released from hospital, he knew he would be getting the letter from U.A shortly telling him whether or not he would be joining the school. Izuku had become pretty proficient with his quirks he figured out that his shockwaves also could be placed in the air as an air trigger. He decided he would call this quirk "Air Pulse" and his scythe quirk he named "Reaper's Arsenal".
He began practicing to find ways he could unleash each quirk in different ways but the scythe was seemingly impossible to use in other ways except being able to use it as defense, but with the air pulse he learned how to use the air placement for mobility. He also found a way to fire shockwaves in a very silly but surprisingly effective way by making finger guns. These finger guns made his shockwaves more precise but at the cost of power.
He got a letter later that day after his training, when he grabbed it he looked down pretty sure he won't have made it because he didn't have a strong enough quirk. He opened it and found a small disc that immediately buzzed to life as a hologram of All-Might appeared.
"Hello Young Midoriya, after the practical exam we have deduced you have earned 27 villain points which by itself would mean you would fail... but we have a secondary point system that we don't let students know about until after which is rescue points. From the footage of the exam we have determined you earned 60 rescue points after getting rid of the big robot to save that girl. SO Young Midoriya welcome to U.A." Izuku broke into tears as he understood he would be able to become the hero he always hoped to be. He went to sleep that night and began falling into a dream.
He awoke to find himself face to face with All-Might on dagobah beach. "Young Midoriya, I'm so sorry for how I treated you the day we met. I told you that you would never be a hero without a quirk but now you have a quirk and I'm glad you decided to continue on the path of a hero after someone who was a clear idol to you crushed your dreams." Izuku was confused but realized he must be having one of his weird dreams again. "It's okay All-Might sir. You were just looking after someone who couldn't look after themselves."
"No it is not I am aware that you were the boy who jumped from the roof of a building and I know I must of had some part of it. So I want to make it up to you to help you with your quirk and to shape you into the next symbol of peace." Izuku was shocked his dream was seemingly continuing but it had been months since the last part of this dream. As he realized this he felt like he was in control of his dream for the first time.
"All-Might I appreciate your offer but I can't... if I didn't make myself stronger there would be no point especially if I was personally trained by the number one hero. I will become the next symbol of peace but I need to do it on my own power." All-Might looked shocked that the young lad had denied his offer. "I understand Young Midoriya just know if you ever want some advice I will be here to help." Izuku nodded in acknowledgement, and began walking home in his dream.
He awoke and realized he had to be in class soon so he rushed to get ready and managed to be on time when he got in he saw some familiar faces. Bakugo was a hard person to miss with his attitude but Izuku hoped to avoid him... Bakugo seemed to have other plans. "DEKU HOW THE FUCK DID YOU GET IN? WHAT IS THERE SOME KINDA OF QUIRKLESS QUOTA OR SOMETHING?" Izuku looked down and began mumbling. "Well Kachan actually i earned enough points to make it into the hero course. Plus I actually do have a quirk now but it's nothing special compared to yours of course." As this exchange was going on Uraraka came in and immediately came over to Izuku. "Hey I'm so glad you made it in and in the same class I'd like to thank you again for saving me from the 0 pointer." Bakugo immediately shut up and was evidently pissed off at what she had said.
Shortly after everyone had shown up and Izuku was trying to see if he could figure out what peoples quirks were other than the mutant type quirks which were fairly obvious. He recognized 2 kids that were part of more wealthy families such as Shouto Todoroki who was the pro Endeavor's son and Momo Yaoyorozu who was from a wealthy family. Todoroki he assumed had a fire quirk but he didn't have the same aura as Endeavor did. The teacher stood up in a sleeping bag shortly after everyone had sat down.
"It took you guys far to long to quite down without knowing I was here. I will be your homeroom teacher Aizawa-sensei as you all know we are the top school for a reason and because of that you are all going to prove that you belong here. Put these on and go down to the field." He held out a bunch of gym uniforms. "But what about opening ceremonies?" One of his classmates asked. "Those are formalities so as such y class won't participate in them. Now hurry up or I'll make the practice harder." All the students rushed to get ready and all met down on the field.
"Today you will be using your quirks in several tests to see what your current limits are and whether your worthy of being called students of U.A." The students looked at each other before Aizawa pointed to Bakugo. "You in middle school what was your farthest throw?" Bakugo looked confused but then Aizawa tossed a ball to him. "Throw it but try using your quirk on the throw." Bakugo smiled as he wound up to throw the ball releasing an explosion at the end of the throw. "DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!" Aizawa looked down at the thing in his hand which read 556.9 meters. "Impressive..." A few students murmured. "This seems like it will be fun." Aizawa turned to where the person was. "Did I hear what you just said right? Well if you think this is going to be so fun there will be rankings. Lowest score is expelled." The students all began panicking debating whether or not he was serious but Izuku knew he was he hadn't gone a semester without an expulsion for several years at this point so he knew he had to go all out.
Izuku stood as the next student to throw a ball. Izuku breathed slowly before clenching his body to create the pressure. When he let go of the ball there was a boom as a sickening crackle was heard but Izuku didn't feel any pain he looked down and saw some minor cuts along his arm. Aizawa looked down at his reader and read 1031 meters. Aizawa smiled and held his hair back, while looking at Izuku impressed at this seemingly nobody having the amount of power with only a minor set back. The rest of the exercises were dominated by other students with Izuku trying to figure out ways to use his quirks for each event.
In the end Aizawa said that he wasn't expelling anyone as he believed they all had potential but he held the right to expel anyone who went below what he called the zero mark. Izuku planned on finding creative ways for his quirks so he would never be close to the zero mark.
Izuku went on his way home when he was approached by Bakugo. "H-How did you get your quirk and why did you hide it. DID YOU PITY ME? WERE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME LOOK LIKE A FOOL DEKU?!" Before Izuku could answer Bakugo threw a right hook at Izuku who quickly manifest his cloak and blocked the hit which lessened the impact but still managed to hurt him. Izuku got up and noticed the cuts on his arm had disappeared along with the idea of Bakugo and him still being friends.
That night Izuku went home and began practicing his quirks in his backyard. He developed a more precision control on how much power he was releasing but he noticed the tingle of something else within him that he somehow was tapping into without his knowledge.
All he knew was he was looking forward to the next day of his time at U.A...
