When Monika saw him, the first thing she did was check to see if her mother was home. Not finding Avantika there, she felt a moment of relief.

"What happened? Are you scared I did something to your mother? Believe me, she’s a disaster in her own way," Utkarsh sneered.

"Shut up, Utkarsh. I knew you’d come. Did you get anything out of it when you tried to buy my secretary except insulting yourself?" Monika mocked him.

"Ha, insult is only meant for your kind of people. You think you can change your number, then show me tantrums, and I will just take it?"

"Am I showing tantrums, or is it you? I only asked for a simple no objection certificate through my secretary, but you want to complicate things between us."

"It’s already very complicated."

"I am fed up with you, Utkarsh. What else do you want from me? You succeeded in your plan. What do you want now? You turned my life upside down. Divorce me and end this."

Utkarsh's eyes darkened, his expression hardening. " You think it’s that easy? Just sign a paper and walk away? "

" Yes, that’s exactly what I think. "

"No, this is your karma. I won't let you go that easily. You can come and live with me again, and in return, I will allow your mother to live here peacefully."

"Are you mad? What kind of condition is this? Why would I leave my mother and go live with you? What more do you want from me?"

"You'll see when I’m done with both of you."

"Shut up! What have I ever done to you that you hate me so much? I think by making fun of me on social media, you’ve damaged me enough to satisfy your ego."

"You’re the egoistic one. I’m sure you were the one who spread the news about being abused by me. First your mother and you made Tina's family suffer, and now mine."

Tina, Tina, Tina. Go fuck Tina! She hated hearing Tina's name from his mouth again and again.

"You just shut up, okay? Talk for yourself only. The matter you’re talking about is between Tina and me. Do not waste my time with your opinions."

"And you don't waste mine. If you want a divorce, then leave this house. I’ve told you before to take your mother and go."

"Right, and you think I’ll do as you want? This is my home, and I won’t give up this time. I paid all the bills, so stop bothering me."

"By staying under my company’s roof, you are bothering me."

"Enough! Can't you mind your own business? We’re going to get divorced, so stop this drama of hating me."

Their eyes locked in a battle of wills, the tension between them thick and suffocating. Monika’s heart raced with anger and defiance. She wouldn’t let Utkarsh control her any longer.

"You have this kind of attitude; anybody’s gonna hate you. And I am not going to divorce you."

"I don't give a damn. Whoever and whatever I am, I know I'm better than you all."
