Chapter 15

Lane's P.O.V.

------At the food court------

I put my phone back in my purse. "What did he say?" said Cameron. "George, and the Fangs be here in about 30 minutes." I said. "Why are you and George hanging out with the Fangs anyway?" said Cameron. "Since the Fangs taught me how to be more like a gang member. To repay them they wanted me to hang out with them today." I said. "But why did George come?" said Cameron. "Because of what I told you earlier." I said. "Oh ok." said Cameron. "Yea." I said. "Lane, why won't you join the Ravens?" said Cameron. "Look, I'd love to join the Ravens. But I can't just leave the Vipers. They'll be upset, especially George." I said. "Ok." Cameron said. "Ok." I said pulling on the sleeves of my jacket. "But can we still hang out?" said Cameron. "Sure." I said "Sweet, here put your number in my phone and I'll put mine in your phone." said Cameron. We exchange numbers, and I pull on the sleeves on my jacket once again. "Why do you keep doing that?" said Cameron. "Do what?" I said. "Pulling on your jacket sleeves." said Cameron. "I don't know. My mom says my older sister used to do the same thing." I said. "When was the last time you saw her?" said Cameron. "I don't remember, it was a long time. Same thing with my dad." I said. This is weird I never talk about dad and Ally with anyone except George. "What are you thinking about?" said Cameron. "I never talk about my dad and sister with anyone except George." I said. "Really?" said Cameron. "Yes. He's the only one I talk to about my past." I said. "Well now you can talk about your past with me." said Cameron. "Ok." I said smiling. Just then I get a text from George.

Text message

George: Just got your present. We're heading to the food court now, be there in about 4 minutes

"Who's that?" said Cameron. "George. Him, and the Fangs are going to be here in about 4 minutes." I said. "Shit if George sees me he'll kill me." said Cameron. "Don't worry, if you leave now he won't see you." I said. "Ok thanks Lane." said Cameron getting up. "You're welcome." I said. "Lane, please think about joining the Ravens." said Cameron. "I will." I said. "Hang out soon?" said Cameron. "Sure." I said. "Bye Lane." said Cameron. "Bye Cameron." I said. Cameron walks away.

------4 minutes later------

"Where've you been Lane?" said George. "I went to look for your present." I said. I pick up the bag with George's new game in it. "Here you go." I said. George grabs the bag and takes out the game. "Thanks Lane." said George. "No problem." I said. "Here's yours." said George. I grab the bag from George, and open it. When I open the bag I see a journal with about 350- 400 pages, and a black XXL jacket that says 'Don't mess with me'. "Wow, thanks George." I said. "You're welcome." said George.
