By the time Jasper and I explained everything to Charlotte my mom was just coming home from her lunch. "Char? I think you should probably go now."
"Why?"
"My mom just opened the door and she'll have plenty of questions if she ran into Colin." I explained.
"I guess. Bye then." She waved as she left my room. "Text me later!"
"I will!" I called back.
"Alexia?" My mom knocked on my door.
"How was lunch?" I asked as if nothing happened.
"It was very good until Colin showed up holding his face. What were you guys doing?"
"Hannah he grabbed Lex and kissed her in front of my face." Jasper answered for me.
"He did what?"
"He did mom. For the second time today." I added.
"I can't believe it." She shook her head in disbelief. "That doesn't sound like Colin."
"I know mom but it happened."
"I believe you." She assured me. "I'll let you two be."
Jasper casually put his arm around me with a smile. "You want to go for lunch Lex?"
"Sure let me grab some money." I stood up quickly and grabbed my wallet.
"You don't need any. Come on."
"I'm bringing some anyways." I replied stubbornly.
"Let's go." We headed out with a quick goodbye to my mom and before I knew it we were parked outside the cafe where we met for the first time. "Is it okay if we get take-out then go sit at a picnic table?" He asked.
"Yep. Sounds good."
"Sandwich and chips okay?"
"Nice and simple." I smiled.
"We can get something else if you want." He said quickly.
"It's fine Jasper. I'm in the mood for a sandwich anyways." I reassured him.
"If you're sure."
"It's fine."
After ordering our food we claimed a picnic table and sat down to eat. Our conversations never seemed to be forced but rather flowed naturally. "Want to go for a walk?" Jasper asked nervously.
"Sure but promise me you'll relax a bit. I don't bite and you know that." I teased.
"I'll try."
Jasper's POV
I took her hand in mine as we walked along the boardwalk. "So a couple weeks ago what were you planning on doing right now? Before you met me."
"Probably not much apart from Wattpad and sleeping." She admitted.
"Same. I'm glad I changed my plan."
"Did you know you're really sweet?"
"No but now that you say it, thank you." I smirked.
"Oh shut up."
"I don't want to." I murmured softly as we stepped aside.
"Oh really?"
"Nope."
"Well then, what can I do to change that?"
"Something like this." I whispered as I leaned closer so our noses were almost touching.
"What works?"
"This." I kissed her gently for the first time, sweet but short, as I rested my hands on her waist.
"Yeah that works." She smiled up at me.
"It didn't quite have the effect I wanted so I might need to re-try it."
"Sounds good to me." She put her her arms around my neck and tilted her head up to mine for another kiss.
"Better."
"Shush you'll ruin the silence."
"You do realize we're in the middle of a park and I'm pretty sure people are staring."
"So? I never want this to end."
I relaxed and we broke apart but kept our hands entangled. "Did I mention that you're beautiful?"
"I am not." She blushed lightly as she spoke and I brushed her cheek gently.
"You are. I'm so glad I met you."
"Who knew?" She laughed. "That some random chat site could produce love."
"You love me?"
"Oh um yeah. I didn't mean to say that." Her face was bright red but I kissed her once more before replying. "I love you too."
