Why can't I be more like her?
Why can't I have her smooth,
bright hair and her
awaken blue eyes?
She tells me,
using a flick of her
wrist about
how she was never
good at drinking coffee quickly
and I pretend to laugh
All I can think about is
her beauty and how envious
I am
Her boyfriend comes into
the room, smiling and
sneakily wrapping
his arms around her
waist and kissing her
cheek
Their love glows
bright with
the colour of red
I think of us,
how you told me
that we had to keep
fighting to
survive
You left again
because your heart
wasn't whole
and you needed
it to mend
What do you do
when you leave?
Do you have another
lover?
I'm so determined
we won't last, yet
I can't remember
who I am when I
wake up without you
by my side
I look up,
seeing
the two of them;
lost in each other's eyes,
both being so blue
they are almost silver
and their hearts are gold
It strikes me that
I am in a kingdom,
because no man
can treat a woman like
that without her
being a queen;
his queen
And he is a king
who would buy
his loved one
the stars,
