and how we had the choice

to live or die trying

You told me to die

trying to live,

and then looked

me in the eyes

Once you told me

I had trophy eyes,

and today you seemed

to lose yourself again

You kissed me,

promising to come back

I believed you,

and I sat still to wait

I heard you at the door,

your heart beating so

fast it made the floor

vibrate and the walls

crumple down

You sighed,

and then the door shut

and I was alone
