"I can close it!" Natasha called out from the roof of Stark Tower. The redhead held a tight grip onto the sceptre that once belonged to the Norse god of mischief. "Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down."

"Do it!" Steve shouted from the streets of New York City.

"No, wait!" Tony called out.

"Stark, these things are still coming." Steve cut him off, but the billionaire had a plan that would put this invasion to an end.

"I've got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute." Tony - who also goes by Ironman flew over the Brooklyn Bridge as he located the nuke that was hurdling to the city. "And I know just where to put it."

As Tony locked himself onto the missile he pushed up with all he had. His first mental mission was to retrieve the explosive, but his second was to send it up into the portal that opened over New York.

"Stark, you know that's a one-way trip," Steve said softly, reminding Tony of his fate if he were to go through with his plan, but the man only replied with a sassy comment.

"Sir, shall I try Miss Potts?" Jarvis, the Artificial Intelligence spoke up.

"Might as well." Tony's tone was sad as he realized then who he was leaving behind. But as his girlfriend was watching the news, just like the rest of the world, she was too stressed to even glance at her phone.

The Avengers all looked up as Tony turned on his blasters to give some more speed as he made his way to the portal. Hardly skimming his own building he successfully made his way in. Giving it a few minutes to create distance, he finally let go of the explosive. "Call Failed" read out to Tony as the call could not go through to his girlfriend and everything in his suit began to shut down, leaving him in the dark. The Avenger watched as the missile made contact with the ship, causing a major explosion. Tony glanced over to his side to see a girl who looked very young floating in space with him. Her hair covered her face so Tony couldn't get a good look but he could tell she wasn't conscious. As he shut his eyes he suddenly didn't feel so alone.

The Chitauri down on earth all collapsed to the ground when a sound of an explosion erupted from the portal.

"Come on, Stark," Natasha muttered as the scattered Avengers all waited patiently for Tony Stark to fly out of the portal.

"Close it." Steve finally said. Natasha glanced away from the portal and jammed the scepter into the Tesseract. A beam shot up into the sky and suddenly the portal came to a close. But just in the nick of time, Tony Stark shoots out of the portal. But he wasn't alone, another being was close behind him.

"Son of a gun," Steve muttered under his breath.

"There's two." Thor pointed out. "They aren't slowing down." He said as he circled his hammer. The Hulk jumped up with a roar, grabbing Tony while the god grabbed the girl. Steve joined them in the middle of the street. The girl was laid down beside Tony while everyone gave her a glance of confusion. Thor ripped off Tony's mask, throwing it to the side and the two were in the same condition.

"They're breathing," Steve noted after checking the two. But when the Hulk let out a roar, Tony shot awake.

"What the hell." Tony cried out. "What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me."

"We won." Steve sighed, calming his own breathing.

"Alright yay!" Tony said tiredly. "Alright good job guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried Shawarma? There's a Shawarma joint about two blocks from here, I don't know what it is but I wanna try it."

"You talk too much." The girl stirred from beside him, pushing herself up as much as she could. She let out a groan of pain as he collapsed back to laying down on the pavement.

"Who the hell are you?" Steve asked.

"Callisto." She tucked her traditional blue braids back behind her ears. "That's all I know. Where am I?"

"We're not finished yet," Thor spoke, hinting at his brother. "I'll deal with her after Loki."

"And then Shawarma after." Tony nodded.
