This is really really bad and this story is going really slow sorry

ten//

It was the next morning and I was still lying in bed. My mind was racing with thoughts of Ashton and Michael.

I think I like Michael but I don't want to believe it.

I still couldn't get my head around the thought of Ashton being depressed. It didn't seem possible.

I had called him last night and he promised he would come over first thing in the morning so we could talk.

I waited until he showed up around 8:30. My parents let him go up to my room.

"Hey," he smiled, crawling up on the bed next to me tiredly.

"Hey," I responded quietly.

"So you wanted to talk?"

I nodded, "Why... Why are you depressed?"

He shrugged, "I just am."

"There wasn't anything that caused it?"

"There were a lot of things that all added up and I just became depressed."

"Like what?"

"My dad left my family. I haven't seen him since I was 11 after my brother was born. I was a loner in school. I got picked on and bullied and just the feeling of being alone makes you sad."

I scooted closer to him and wrapped my arms around him tightly, pulling us close together.

He dropped his head onto my chest.

"I say this all the time, but I love you, so do the boys and so do your family. You're not a loner because you have us and we're going to help you through this."

"Thank you," he whispered. We sat there for a while, me just hugging him until Tanner stepped into the room.

"Oh, sorry," he said, backing out of the room.

"No it's fine," I told him, "what do you need?"

"Mom wanted me to tell you her and dad can stay home from work today if you want then to."

"No I'll be fine."

"Okay. I'll be bringing home all your missed work from school tonight."

"Thank you," I smiled.

He nodded and left, closing the door.

"Are you going back to school today?" I asked Ashton.

He shook his head. "I told my mum about my attempt yesterday. She wants me to stay home from school until I'm in a better state of mind."

"That's good," I smiled, running a hand through his hair. "Are you staying here all day?"

"If you don't mind."

"Not at all."

"What about the other boys?"

"We're picking them up after school."

"When is Michael going to drop out?"

"Soon. He's been talking and trying to convince his parents. I think they want him to finish up this year and then he doesn't have to finish high school but he wants out sooner than that."

I nodded, looking over at the clock. My parents should be leaving right now. Tanner's first period class - thanks to block schedule - isn't until 10, meaning he has another hour before he has to leave.

Ashton pulled away from my chest and leaned back on the pillows.

We sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes before Tanner came in my room again.
