I was in shock. She doesn't remember me. She doesn't remember our love.
"What's the last thing you remember?" a nurse asked her.
"We moved to Australia. I'm supposed to be meeting my friend, Ashton's, band mates tonight."
She remembers Ashton! That's slightly better.
I sat back quietly, thinking of how to explain this to her.
"Michael? Would you like some time with her?" her mum asked.
I nodded eagerly and she patted my hand, standing up with her husband. Everyone left the room and it was just the two of us.
"Who are you? I'm sorry I don't remember much..."
I scooted further up and grabbed her hand.
"I'm your boyfriend," I said. "We've been dating over 2 years."
"I had a boyfriend?" she whispered. "What about the thing with Kai? I thought I'd never date again after he did that..."
"I helped you get over your fear," I shrugged.
She smiled and blushed, brushing her thumb over my knuckles.
"At least I had good taste," she laughed, looking up at me.
I laughed and leaned forward. "I'm going to help you remember."
"How?"
I stood up and hovered over, "Let's start here."
I slowly and hesitantly placed my lips on hers. They moulded together softly.
"Seems familiar," she giggled.
I sighed and sat down in the chair, "I know you don't love me but I got you to fall once and I can damn sure do it a second time."
She only smiled at me. "How did we meet?"
"I'm one of Ashton's band mates," I explained. "We got a lot more famous since then. We were on tour when I heard what happened to you."
"What exactly did happen?"
"You crashed your car."
She nodded as if the memories were starting to come back, "I kind of remember..."
I smiled and waited for her to speak again.
"Michael, do I still live with my parents?"
"Sort of. You live with them when I'm on tour but when I'm not, you stay at my place. Sometimes you join me on tour."
"Did we ever have sex?" she asked.
I nodded, not even fazed by the question. "Yeah, we did. 1 year anniversary was the first time."
"I made you wait that long?" she laughed.
"The whole Kai thing..." I shrugged. "It took you some time to get over that."
She smiled and looked down, running her fingertips on my arm, sending chills and rushes of happiness through my body.
"Do you want to see Ashton?" I questioned. "And meet the other boys in the band?"
She nodded and I stood up, kissed her forehead, and left.
"Mates," I called. Her parents were talking to the doctor and I could have sworn I saw a small look of disapproval coming my way from her dad,
I shrugged it off.
The three boys and her siblings all followed behind me.
I sat down and Lily sat on my lap, grabbing Jade's hand.
Tanner stood on her other side and Wesley sat on the foot of the bed.
"How're you?" Calum asked.
I sighed and looked up at them, then back at Jade.
"Jade, this is Calum," I said. "You already know Ashton. And this is Luke."
I looked up at the three boys, "She has amnesia."
"I remember moving here," she said. "And I remember Ashton planning to take me to his house that night to meet his band members. That was it."
Ashton smiled weakly at her, "We'll help you remember it all."
