I hopped into the back seat of Ashton’s car, Michael and Luke in the back were next to me - Michael was the closest - and Calum was in the passenger seat.

“Hey,” Ashton smiled at me through the rear view mirror, pulling out of the parking lot.

“Hey,” I smiled, dropping my bag by my feet, causing my legs to brush Michael’s.

“How was school?” he asked, pulling onto the main road and keeping a steady speed alongside the other cars.

“Hell,” I laughed.

“I’m dropping out soon,” Michael smiled, leaning back and looking at me.

I nodded, “Why?”

“Eh, it’s pointless. I’d much rather devote my time to the band. What’s the point of me going to school if I don’t understand a single thing they’re trying to teach me?”

I nodded in agreement, leaning back and staring at the ceiling of his car. A piece of the fabric coating the roof was pealing off slightly. It bugged me. I raised my hand up and poked at it slightly.

“True. I guess. I don’t mind school that much.”

“You’re smart, though,” Luke commented.

“So are you,” Calum laughed, looking back at Luke.

I continued picking at the piece of carpet-like fabric on the roof.

“What are you doing?” Ashton laughed, looking at me through the mirror again, taking glances at the road every second.

“It bugs me,” I muttered, looking over at him. He was still curiously watching me.

I was prepared to tell him to keep his eyes on the road, but Calum beat me to it when he screamed at Ashton to pay attention as another car slammed into us.
