Morning Sleeping Beauty

"Logan." Brett said, trying to wake him up. It had been almost a week and there had been no improvement in Eliza's condition. All three of the brothers had been given as much time as they needed of work, Kyle had returned after a few days, Jake hadn't taken any of it and Logan hadn't returned yet and wasn't planning to without his sister. "Logan." She said shaking his shoulder slightly.
"Hey." He Said, lifting his head from the side of the bed.
"Hey." Brett said, passing him the breakfast she had picked up for him.
"Thanks." He said, taking it and placing it on the floor next to him and taking Eliza's hand in his.
"You still haven't been home?" Brett asked, already knowing the answer.
"I don't want to leave her." He said, his voice barely louder than a whisper.
"What would she say if she knew you hadn't slept properly in almost a week?" Brett said.
"She would tell me to get home and get to bed." He Said, knowing what Brett was getting at. "I'm not leaving her."
"Alright." Brett said, knowing the connection the twins had. "At least eat that." She Said gesturing to the bag he had put on the floor. "Who else's been by?" She asked.
"Kyle comes by after work every night, I've barely seen Jake but I've asked Will to keep an eye on him, Jay comes by whenever he gets a chance then most of the guys have been by at least once." He Said. "I'm worried about Jake." He Said after a few seconds.
"Why?" Brett asked.
"Will said he lost a patient he was close to a few days before this happened and he didn't seem right then. Now with this, I don't think he's coping." Logan explained.

"Jake! Get up!" Kyle shouted, a few seconds later he was at the top of the stairs and outside his brothers room. "Jake.." he stopped as soon as he opened the door. "Jake!" He shouted, seeing the empty pill bottle in his hand. "No, no, no." He Said as he pulled his phone from his pocket. "I need an ambulance at 54 South drive. My brothers ODed."

"Dr Halstead, Jacob Chambers is on his way in, looks like he tried to overdose." Maggie told the doctor as soon as she received the page.
"Has someone told Logan?" Will said, blaming himself.
"Dr Rhodes is checking on Eliza now so he's telling them." Maggie answered. "This poor family." She muttered to herself as she walked away.

6 hours later and Jake had woken up but had been put under a 24 Hour psych Hold so Kyle had left Dr Charles to transport him up to the psych ward and had gone to see Logan and Eliza.
"Hey." Kyle said sticking his head around the door, having noticed Logan was awake.
"Hey, How's Jake?" Logan Asked.
"They've put him in a 24 Hour psych Hold to make sure he's not a danger to himself." Kyle explained.
"Why did he do it?" Logan Asked.
"This whole thing with El and he lost a patient he was pretty close to." Kyle relayed what Dr Halstead had told him earlier. "Any improvements?" He asked gesturing to his little sister.
"Nothing." Logan Said, the tone of his voice a mixture between sadness and annoyance that the doctors couldn't do anything else. "I'm scared to go home." He admitted a thought that had crossed his mind earlier when talking to Brett. "I'm scared of how different it'll be without her to boss me around."
"Trust me it's weird." Kyle said with a small laugh. "I can barely stand it and.. well.. Jake.." he said.
"Couldn't." Logan finished for him. "I don't think I could either."
"Am I alright to stay here with you tonight?" Kyle asked to change the subject.
"Yeah, it's not the comfiest or cosiest but it's bearable." Logan said.

A few hours later, it was about 8pm and Kyle and Logan were asleep at Eliza's bedside when her eyes flickered open. Eliza could feel someone's hand in hers so she squeezed it and waited for a reaction. That reaction did not take long as moments later Logan's eyes opened in a similar way to how Eliza's had and a smile spread over his face.
"Morning sleeping beauty." He teased her with the phrase she often used on him.
"What time is it? What day is it?" Eliza asked as Kyle slowly began to open his eyes.
"Quarter to 8 and it's a Sunday, you were out for nine days." Logan explained.
"What happened? Where's Jake?" She asked.
"You are full of questions." Kyle teased, avoiding that question. "How much do you remember?"
"I was on a call, left Jay to go to the ambulance but I heard a noise behind me then it all goes black." She explained.
"Logan go get the doctor." Kyle ordered. "About Jake.. I found him this morning, he'd overdosed but he's fine now they've just got him in a 24hr Hold." He explained briefly.
"Why? Because of this?" She asked, gesturing to the room around her.
"Partly, also because he'd lost a patient." Kyle said as Connor appeared at the door with Logan behind him.
"Good to see you awake Eliza." Connor greeted her, "All your charts look good and I know you're going to want to catch up with everyone tonight so I'll book you in for any tests tomorrow." He told her.
"Thank you." Eliza said. "How much longer am I gonna be in here for?" She asked.
"It's going to be Tuesday at the earliest but I would say no longer than a week." He Said as his pager went off.
"Thank you." Kyle said.
"When was the last time you went home?" Eliza asked Logan, noticing the bags under his eyes.
"Umm.." he hesitated.
"Since you've been here." Kyle answered.
"Both of you go home, get a good night sleep. I don't want either of you here until 8 at the earliest." She ordered.
"I'm not leaving you alone." Logan protested as there was a knock at the door.
"Hey." Jay said, sticking his head around the door.
"I won't be now, so go!" She Said.
"Alright." Logan Said, getting up and leaving, allowing Jay to sit in his seat.
"Hey." Eliza said to the detective. "How'd you know I was awake so fast?"
"I had Will ring me as soon as he knew." He shrugged. "I'm sorry, it's all my fault."
"What is?" Eliza asked confused.
"You being in here, the place was still an active crime scene that had only been briefly cleared." Jay explained.
"My brothers a cop remember. I know about all that stuff but I still chose to stay behind and go on my own. It's nobody's fault apart from the guy that walked me." Eliza said with a kind smile.
"His trials soon, attempted murder. The DA says it'll be open and close with my testimony and all the evidence even though he's pleading not guilty." Jay explained.
