The End

Authors note: I'm fully aware this chapter is 16 months late, I'm sorry. It has been sat half written in my drafts for that long and I kept coming back and adding bits but today I decided to finish it and finish this story as it had been annoying me that it wasn't finished.

I'm sorry its quite an abrupt ending but I didn't want you to have to wait 16 months for the next chapter!

"Jacob?" Will Said as he rounded a corner and saw the younger doctor on the floor in a pool of his own blood. Jacob always liked to be the first in for his shift and for once this played as an advantage as the path wouldn't be used for another 12 hours after his shift had begun. "Stay with me." Will Said, crouching at his side and putting pressure on the stab wound whilst getting his phone out and ringing Maggie.

"Dr Halstead, you better not be ringing me to tell me you're going to be late again." Maggie said, answering on the second ring.

"I need a gurney on the path on the west side of the hospital. Jacobs been stabbed." Will relayed.

"Dr Rhodes is on his way." Maggie said a few moments later.

"Call... Kyle... I need... to talk to... cops." Jacob said quietly, struggling for breath.

"Maggie, call Kyle, Jacob wants to talk to the police." Will Said.

Meanwhile, Jay and Eliza had gone back to Jays place and were laying on the couch watching a film. Well, Jay was watching it and Eliza had drifted to sleep, her head on his chest.

"El, your phones ringing." Jay Said, lightly shaking her.

"I don't care." Eliza Said tiredly, Jay leant over her to see who it was and if she should answer it.

"Are you sure? It's Maggie." Jay Said, handing her the phone as she bolted upright.

"Maggie?" Eliza said, clearly worried for the reason the nurse was ringing her.

"Oh Eliza, thank god. Neither of your brothers are answering." Maggie said.

"Is everything okay?" Eliza asked, her eyes locking with Jays as he attempted to keep her calm.

"Jacobs been stabbed outside of the hospital, he won't go into surgery until he's spoken to the police." Maggie explained the situation, her breath catching slightly as the deathly pale doctor was wheeled into the E.D.

"I'm with Jay now, we'll be there as soon as we can." Eliza said hanging up.

"Kyle?" Jay Asked, the mention of his name leading him to that conclusion. Eliza shook her head.

"Jake." She Said. "He's been stabbed and won't let them take him into surgery until he's spoken to the police. Kyle and Logan aren't answering their phones." She began to allow the panic to sink in but was cut off by Jays gentle kiss on her lips.

"Kyle'll be in an interrogation and Logan will be asleep." He reassured her.

"Jake, what happened?" Eliza asked, rushing into his hospital room.

"Where's Kyle?" Jacob asked, looking behind her.

"They couldn't reach him, Maggie said you wanted to speak to the cops so Jays here." She explained.

"You need to find Logan and Kyle." Jacob stated.

"I will once you're in surgery." Eliza stated. "Jay." She said, reopening the door behind her.

"Do you know who did this? Or why?" Jay asked as soon as he was in the room.

"I think so, I've been trying to work it out and theres only one person that would make sense." Jacob said before explaining everything the man had said to him.

"Wait, so youre saying youre in here because someone got you and your brothers mixed up?" Jay asked.

"Yep." Jacob said.

"You get into surgery and I'll go and find them." Eliza assured him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"LOGAN!" Eliza shouted into their apartment. 

"What?" He shouted back, she could tell by his voice he had been asleep.

"Jake's been stabbed." Eliza said, running up the stairs to his room.

"Wait, what?" Logan said, jumping to his feet.

"He thinks someone got you all mixed up, apparently the guy was talking about his girlfriend. But Jake's single." She explained.

"I've not had anything serious in months." Logan said.

"I'll text Jay, get him to grab Hailey as well." She said.

"You and Jay huh?" Logan said as they rushed back to the car.

"What about it?" Eliza asked.

"Come on, we agreed years ago. No secrets." Logan said.

"Okay, yeah, theres something there." She said.

"As long as he treats you right, I won't say anything." Logan said.

"Where's Kyle?" Jay asked as he rushed up the stairs into intelligence.

"Interrogation with Voight." Burgess replied.

"Thanks." Jay said, rushing towards the interrogation rooms and placing a firm knock on the door before opening it. "Sarge, I need to talk to you both." He said.

"What are you doing here Halstead, I gave you the day off." Voight asked.

"I know, Jacob's been stabbed, Eliza and Logan are on there way to med. They tried ringing you but you weren't answering your phone." Jay explained.

"It's on my desk, who did this?" Kyle asked.

"The guy was talking about how Jacob needs to stay away from his daughter." Jay explained.

"But Jake's single." Kyle asked confused.

"Yeah, so's Logan." Jay stated. 

"I'm gonna ring Hailey." Kyle said, rushing to grab his phone.

"We'll make this case top priority." Voight said.

"Thanks, I'm gonna stay with Kyle incase he realises he got the wrong brother." Jay said, Voight nodded before Jay went to where Kyle was on the phone talking to Upton.

"No, it's not your fault." Kyle said.

"Tell her we're coming to pick her up." Jay mouthed.

Hailey's dad was found and arrested for attempted murder in a few hours, the bloody knife was sat wrapped in a towel on the passenger seat of his car.

Jacob's surgery lasted two hours as there was minimal damage as he had gotten pretty lucky.

Once her dad had been arrested, Hailey finally allowed Kyle to convince her it wasn't his fault, an opinion that was later echoed by Jacob who joked it was their genetics fault.

It didn't take long for everyone to realise Jay and Eliza had been together due to how fast they had gotten to the hospital, together. They were also outted by Maggie who mentioned it in passing to the siblings.

Kyle, Jacob and Logan were all happy for Eliza, knowing that Jay would by good to her but they still insisted on giving him the protective brother speech, something which Hailey found hilarious.
