He runs his hands through his hair, trying to compose his thoughts. "Caroline, I just couldn't sit there imagining what this guy could have done to you and do nothing. He won't take no for an answer next time. He didn't take no for an answer this time."
I square myself to my full height at in response, holding my stance. "But I can handle it. I didn't need your help."
"I know you didn't. But I just couldn't..."
My hands fly up in anger and I glare at him. "Why do you even care?"
He looks at me in shock.
I take a step forward, pressing, "I mean it. Why would you care about someone you don't even know? If I say I have it handled, it's fine. It wasn't a big deal. It's not like anything really happened."
Adrian searches my expression, but I only give him a hard glare. "What did he do?"
I roll my eyes at his deflection. "It doesn't matter. Nothing happened so it's fine. I'm fine."
He walks closer to me, within arms' reach, searching my eyes for anything. Any feeling other than fury.
No. I can't let those beautiful blue eyes wear me down. If he doesn't want to tell me anything, then I won't either.
I feel a shiver run through my resolve as he speaks softly. "Caroline, please."
I walk away from him. His closeness is loosening my nerve. "I don't know why you would care so much. Don't worry about it. Nothing happened and I have it under control."
"Damnit, Caroline. You know why I care. I don't know why you want to hear me to say it so badly." His jaw clenches and his brows furrow in frustration.
I'm shocked and I can feel the anger begin to lift. Turning to face him straight on, his face has a look of agony. "Say what, Adrian?"
He looks away, trying to hide his face.
I walk closer to him, placing an arm on his shoulder. "Adrian, say what?"
His shoulders tense and he turns abruptly to me, causing me to jump. Within a blink, his hand is wrapped around the back of my neck and his arm pulls me tight around the waist. My breath catches in my throat and my heart feels as if it's going to stop beating. His lips press against mine and my entire body jolts. His kiss is passionate, and tense, like he's trying to convince himself that he should give in.
Breathlessly I pull myself away to search his eyes. "You do remember don't you? You know exactly who I am."
He lets out a low growl and easily picks me up, swinging my legs around his waist before pushing my back against the wall. "Of course I remember. How could I forget the most incredible night of my life?"
He pulls me into a devouring kiss and runs his hands up my body. We give in to each other and I allow the wave of pleasure to wash over me, losing myself in the bliss of his every touch as his hands rake over my body, memorizing every inch as his tongue explores my mouth. He sets me down, breaking the kiss long enough to pull my top over my head as my hands immediately move to unbutton his jeans. As they drop, he yanks his tee shirt over his head. He kneels as his hands slide my underwear down from my hips, kissing and gently biting the flesh at my hip as he lets them fall to the floor before kicking them away. His mouth crashes back into mine as he quickly unclasps my bra and picks me back up to secure me onto his waist. I gasp against his mouth as I feel him sliding urgently into my warm opening. He lets out a grunt of pleasure as his body tenses. His hand grips hard against my butt as he begins to thrust in and out with purpose. I moan as one hand holds tights against the back of his neck, tangling into his hair. My free hand holds securely around his shoulders, clawing into his back. I hear him growl in pleasure as he tilts my hips for a better angle, increasing his speed. With the change, I feel my body begin to fill with pleasure. Another loud moan escapes from my lips as his breathing becomes ragged.
