E i g h t

"He...Hello Seokjin" I nervously asked with a shaky voice. Holding the phone close to my ear.

Kim Seokjin, my senior and ex neighbour, one of the sweetest guys I have known. He has this motherly aura to him. Like he is just so caring and responsible. And scold you when you do something wrong.

"Hello. Yes this is Kim Seokjin speaking." He states with confidence in his voice.

Thank god it's him.

"It's me June." I tried to maintain my tone and talk nervously biting my lip.

"June!!?? Sorry. Did I hear that right?" He seemed to be shocked after hearing that. His sudden rise in voice made me wince and remove the phone from my ear.

"Yeah you heard it right, it's me June" I brought the phone back to my ear.

"How are you? Are you alright? Did anything happened? You know you can talk to me." His motherly nature kicked in.

"Yeah I am alright stop speaking so loudly. I just wanted some um....help. Can we like...meet or something?" I hoped that he would say yes. There were some chances that he could decline or make some excuse to not meet me.

"Yeah. What help? Want to hear some dad jokes?" He suddenly became all cheery.

Jin's dad jokes are something that will totally make you laugh hard but not because they are funny but because with how much confidence he tells them and how he laughs after them.

"Ah! No no I am fine, I am perfectly fine."

"Ok I will tell you once we meet, you used to love them." He sighs.

I just hummed and waited for him to say something.

"Let's meet at the bingsu shop near our school where you used to go everyday. Today?"

"Yeah sounds good. I'll be there in an hour."

...

I sat on my favourite spot that was near the window, waiting for the person with whom I am excited and nervous at the same time to meet.

Wiping my sweaty hands on the the dress I was wearing. I waited for him. I arrived ten minutes early, so that I doesn't make him wait.

I hate that.

I was waiting and continuously checking my watch for the time. One of my habits that I hate being impatient.

After 15 minutes of waiting I saw a handsome man making his way towards me. I don't have to think twice who he is. Wearing that same sweet smile he had four years back. And I must say his looks only got better. With his black hair pushed back and his flawless skin.

I stood up to greet him with a smile that was not even near a fake one.

"Hello June." He immediately engulfed me in a warm hug.

I replied with a hello and hugged him back.

We sat down and ordered some drinks for us.

"So how's life been?" He asked giving his all attention to me.

"Um.. it's good. What about you?"

"Good to know. I am dashing as ever."

After catching up a bit we got to know about each other mostly I got to know about him. He is in college finishing his studies. It felt good to meet him after such a long time. I was happy that he remembered me.

But the reason why I wanted to meet him was unasked.

"Uh... Jin I wanted t-to ask something." Stop stuttering June.

He sipped his smoothie and looked up to face me with a smile "Yeah what is it? Ask me anything."

"I uh... Do you know Kim Namjoon?"
