Chapter 17 Part 3

Finn had just left McKinley and was on the way to the police station. He promised Rachel he'd get the restraining order and ultimately it was a good idea. Lara said she was better but this might send her back to her old ways and she was dangerous and completely unstable before. He parked his car and walked into the station.

Officer- Hello sir.

Finn- Hi I need to.. Um.. File a restraining order against someone.

Officer- Sure, I can help you out, follow me.

The officer opened a side door and led Finn to a his desk.

Officer- by the way I'm Officer Drew

Finn- Nice to meet you I'm Finn.

Drew- Alright so just fill out the top half which is your personal information and the person you're getting it against. I will fill out the bottom form for you.

Finn- ok

Finn filled out his information and put Lara's information and handed it back when he was done. Drew- So why are you getting this restraining order?

Finn- do you want the long story or just a short version

Drew- which ever one you want.

Finn- well my ex girlfriend has been following me and showing up at my work and house and I'm afraid she's going to try something.

Drew- did she know where you worked or lived?

Finn- no I use to live in a different city before and I came back to Lima for work and she claimed a friend told her but I don't buy it. And she also claimed that someone told her where I worked.

Drew- alright where did you meet her?

Finn- we met in college and dated for about 3 or 4 years. I broke it off and ended all contact and it's been about 3 years since we last spoke when she randomly appeared on my doorstep.

Drew- Wow, so what do you mean by "try to do something"?

Finn- well when we were together she became an alcoholic and was pretty much drunk all the time. When she did show up, she told me she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder so when I confronted her to get away from me she kinda seemed off and I'm afraid she'll end up going crazy and hurting me. I mean when I first broke up with her she threw an empty glass bottle at my head and it shattered behind me on a wall. I'm also getting this because my girlfriend is afraid that she's going to stalk her and hurt her.

Drew- is your girlfriend going to get a restraining order too?

Finn- no luckily Lara doesn't know who my girlfriend is and I intend to keep it that way. I don't want her involved at all because I want her safe.

Drew- ok well that's all we need we have Lara's information and we will contact her soon. The order should go in within a day so if she gets near you again, call 911 and we'll have her arrested.

Finn- ok what is the distance she's allowed to be near me?

Drew- well it's different for every case and as for this one we might make it that she can't contact you via phone, email, messaging, and other forms of communication and she must stay away from you, family, and friends. She must also keep the distance of 100 yards.

Finn- ok. Do these actually work?

Drew- well they do for the most part, you have to keep your eyes open though and see if she's following you and just make sure you call us for anything suspicious. Your a teacher so let your boss know and you might have to let your students know because sometimes people will use any way to get to you.

Finn- ok thank you so much Officer Drew.

Finn stood up and shook his hand.

Drew- no problem it's what we do. Just stay safe and we'll do our best to protect you and your loved ones.

Finn walked out and felt at peace knowing he was somewhat safe. He quickly texts Rachel and tells her the news. He's so happy that Lara has no idea who his girlfriend is.
