Chapter 30 Part 2

Rachel- oh my god Finn!

She was shocked, she couldn't believe Finn had gotten a limo for their date.

Finn- surprise! It might be a bit big for just the two of us but I want it to be special.

Rachel laughed- babe, you really didn't have to do this.

Finn- hey, you deserve this and so much more. I couldn't have gotten through these past few weeks without your love and support. Now come on our reservation is at 6 and LA traffic is horrible.

He led her to the limo and opened the door for her. Rachel got in but not before giving Finn a kiss. They got in and sat together in the back.

Rachel- oh! Let's pop some apple cider!

Finn- um, let's hold that off till after dinner.

Rachel- why?

Finn- because we can pop it after we go to our secret location.

Rachel- ok, where's the restaurant?

Finn- it's in Malibu, along the beach.

Rachel- we're going to the beach?!?!

Finn- sorta..

Rachel smiled as she grabbed his hand, she looked down and noticed he wore his watch. The same watch she had bought him.

Rachel- you're wearing your watch...

Finn- of course, it's one of my most treasured items.

Rachel blushed and she turned to face him. She showed him that she had decided to wear her locket as well. Finn saw it and his smile widen.

Rachel- mine is too.

Finn- I love you so much.

Rachel- I love you too.

She leaned in and gently kissed him and sat next to him, laying her head on his shoulder and played with their interlocked fingers. They were in that position for another 15 minutes before they felt the limo come to a stop. The door opened and Finn climbed out and helped Rachel get out. Rachel turned and saw a large white restaurant opening. Finn held out his arm and she took it as he led them inside and to the hostess.

Hostess- Hello

Finn- Hi, I have a reservation for two in the Sun Room under Finn Hudson.

The woman looked down at her computer and back at Finn and Rachel.

Hostess- Yes, right this way.

Rachel- why is it called the sun room?

Finn- you'll see...

They were led to the back of the restaurant where they entered a private room. Rachel gasped as she took in the view. The room was large and had windows all along the wall where all you could see was the ocean. Rachel hadn't noticed but the restaurant was on a cliff and the water could be seen crashing into the rocks along the cliff.

Rachel- Finn! This is beautiful!

Finn- like I said, you deserve the best.

They sat at the table and ordered their meal. They were so happy that they didn't need to hide their relationship. They were in love.

After dinner, Finn noticed the sun begin to set so he said it was time to go. So he and Rachel got back into the limo.

Rachel- so where next?

Finn- secret location!

Rachel- how exciting!

Finn- it's nearby too, so it won't take too long. Are you having a good time?

Rachel- the best.

She kissed him on the cheek and sat back only to feel the car come to a stop.

Rachel- wow that was fast!

Finn- wait, before we get out, you need to put on this blindfold.

Rachel- why?

Finn- it's a surprise remember?

Rachel- ok..

Finn tied the blindfold on Rachel and led her out of the limo. Rachel walked out and smelled the ocean. He began to led her down a short pathway that led to their destination.

Rachel- well, we're near the beach because I can smell it.

Finn- yeah we're sorta above it

Rachel- Finn you're not gonna get me wet right?

Finn laughed- no, no water is involved

They continued walking until Finn told her to stop.

Finn- ok wait here

Rachel- wait where are you going?

Finn- just wait

She waited for a while, swinging her arms around trying to feel anything nearby. She felt high grass near her legs.

Rachel- can I take it off now?

Finn- hold on.... ohh... Ok now you can.

Rachel slowly pulled off the blindfold. She opened her mouth in awe. They were on a cliff looking over the ocean and the sunset. She saw a white gazebo, full of fairy lights and roses. Finn stood in the middle with a single white rose.

Rachel- Finn... I don't know what to say. It's absolutely beautiful. You did all this?

Finn nodded as he gave the rose to Rachel. He led her to the side that had a perfect view of the sunset. She stood in front of him, while he wrapped his arms around her petite figure. They said nothing because there was nothing to say. The silence was comfortable and Rachel was at ease, feeling Finn's heartbeat behind her.

Finn- Rachel?

Rachel- yeah?

She turned to him, and she saw that he was extremely nervous.

Rachel- what's wrong?

Finn- nothing, I just need to tell you something.

Rachel- ok.

Finn took a deep breath- a few years ago, I was in a terrible relationship where the woman I loved lied to me and treated me horribly. After our break up, I thought I would never be able to fall in love again. I was broken. But then I met you, and you were.. incredible. I mean sure we met under different circumstances but I honestly think fate brought us together. I've never met anyone who I'd be willing to give up everything for. You're everything I've ever wanted. You're beautiful, talented, warm-hearted and you'd never hurt me. You're my best friend; someone I can confide in and can count on. You're my love; someone I would do anything for and will always love no matter what. You're my soulmate. I know we've only been together for 8 months, but I've never felt this way before and I really hope you feel the same way, because Rachel, I want to be with you forever. So with that..

He got down on one knee.

Finn- Rachel Barbra Berry, will you complete my life by becoming my wife? Will you marry me?

Rachel was crying, she couldn't believe Finn had just propose to her. The whole evening wasn't just to celebrate but to propose to her. He wanted to be with her, for the rest of his life. So many emotions were going through her mind but all she could focus on was the fact that Finn was on his knee, with a ring in his hand.

Finn- Rachel?

Rachel- Sorry, I just... I can't believe this. Finn, I love you so much. I wouldn't choose anyone else to spend my life with.

Finn- wait.. is that.. is that a yes?

Rachel laughed- yes, Finn. I will marry you!

Finn put the ring on her finger and kissed her. They smiled into the kiss. Nothing and no one could ever take this moment from them. They were engaged. They were promising to be together for the rest of their lives. To others, it might have been scary but to them; it just made sense.
