Kahless hugged her knees to her chest. She couldn't predict Ingrid, and that made her uneasy. Did she kill Nova?
Kahless watched as Ingrid threw back her head and laughed. Adrian must be freaking out, but that's not who Kahless was worrying about. What would Ingrid do?
"It's really nice when someone actually appreciates all the planning we do. That was all fake, you know. But I did kill her. Nightmare is dead, that's for sure." What was Ingrid doing? Was Nova dead? Ingrid laughed again.
"But you're dying!" Adrian exclaimed.
Ingrid shook her head. "Boys," she muttered. "Those were blanks, obviously." Ingrid clicked her tongue. "To ahead back to your Renegades friends and tell them what you saw. Go ahead, shoo!" Ingrid gestured with her hands. "Well," she laughed, "I guess they're all ready here!"
Sure enough, the entire Council was hurrying over. Once they had come into view, Ingrid snapped her fingers and a small bomb exploded halfway across the park, causing screams of fear from the civilians. Kahless grimaced. She should have known Ingrid wouldn't let innocent people be free. She was a real villain.
Adrian clenched his fists and ran over to the villain, handcuffing and drawing chains around her hands. Ingrid continued to chuckle. "You Renegades just don't know when to stop, do you?"
Adrian was still confused until the bombs continued detonating and his face cleared. Then, watching the civilians getting slaughtered, his face became pained. "Stop! Please!" He said desperately, but Ingrid wasn't listening.
After a few more bombs, Nova climbed up onto the wreckage of the Fun House and aimed a fun - a real one - at Ingrid. She fired and the bullet struck her fellow Anarchist over the heart. Ingrid's cackles stopped, and there was silence.
"Adrian! Are you okay?" Captain Chromium asked when he caught up with his son.
"Yes, dad, I'm fine."
Nova staggered over and supported her weight on Adrian. "This," Captain Chromium continued, "is why Agent N will be so helpful."
The Dread Warden elbowed his husband. "That's confidential."
"Oh, right. Well, I assume the med wing will want to see you, then." The Captain noticed the reporters starting to crowd at the edge of the park.
Blacklight sighed. "I'll deal with the media." Tsunami started covering Ingrid's body before they could photograph it.
Adrian led Nova away from the crowds and they talked talked softly to one another. Kahless tried to tune them out - their flirting was making her sick - but her enhanced hearing wouldn't let her.
"Do you know about that Agent N?" Nova asked.
Adrian replied, "I don't know what it is. All I know is that it involves Max's blood samples."
Nova nodded. Adrian said, "I thought you were dead."
Nova sagged against him. "That makes sense."
Kahless's concentration was broken - mercifully - by Thunderbird's orders to; "Search the area and report any victims to the Renegade hospital as soon as possible."
Soon, Kahless noticed a monarch butterfly flapping lazily by her face. Monarch.
The one monarch was joined by about one-hundred more and formed into Danna Bell, a member of Adrian's team.
"There's no excuse for this. I've got you now!"
