Ring of Honor

Hello, all wrestling fans! Today's update of the fan club (I know what you're saying - two updates in one day?! Gasp!) is about my other favorite wrestling promotion, Ring of Honor.

I am a new fan of Ring of Honor - I discovered it when they started airing one-hour editions of their shows on Saturdays at midnight (or later, depending on the sporting events Fox had earlier that day) and I liked it because it was mostly straight wrestling and none of the bullshit we see in WWE today. There are storylines, feuds and sometimes ridiculous shit (no seriously, there's a wrestler- scrawny black guy named . . . wait for it . . . Cheeseburger. That's his name. Don't believe me? Google it.) But it's mostly just flat-out wrestling, like in the old days.

For those of you that don't know, Ring of Honor is one of the top indie promotions in the world. The talent? Top-notch. The matches? Flawless, unless it's something ridiculous (there have been some really stupid gimmicks and matches in ROH).

For those of you that do know, Ring of Honor has given us top-tier talent (and all of these names can be Googled - some may not have come from Ring of Honor, but they were there at some point) such as Evan Bourne, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Luke Harper, Chris Hero (even though it didn't last long), Colt Cabana (Hey Colt Cabana, how ya doing? Sorry - I had to), Jerry Lynn (you might have to look him up - he wrestled back in the days when the F was still there), Jimmy Wang Yang, Joey Ryan (he didn't stay very long - he was what they called "enhancement talent"), Kevin Steen (this is just a rumor at the moment, but it would be cool if he did come to WWE - the guy's pretty badass), Low Ki (or, if y'all watched NXT back in the days of the gameshow format, he was Kaval), Justin Credible (way back in the day), Matt Stryker, Mick Foley (that I actually didn't know - thank you, Google!), Raven, Rhino, Ric Flair (didn't know that either- yes, I know he didn't come from Ring of Honor, but I wanted to include his name), Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, Brian Kendrick, Zach Gowen (he wasn't there for very long, but he was very inspiring - the dude only had one leg!), Sterling James Keenan (who we know as Corey Graves - he didn't wrestle officially with Ring of Honor, but rather a promotion that Ring of Honor worked with called Do or Die - you might have to look it up - Ring of Honor has this thing where they use crosspromotions with other indie federations? Promotions? You pick.), KENTA (we will be getting to know him very well very soon), Mickie James, Daffney (I know she only wrestled for WCW, but WWE owns it now, so it counts), Sara Del Rey, Taeler Hendrix (she is currently one of Adam Rose's "Rosebuds") and Trinity.

This list is long and impressive, but the talent now is unbelievable.

They have some former WWE stars, such as Matt Hardy and Maria Kanellis. Their other talent, such as Kevin Steen, Jay Lethal (who some of you will remember as AJ Lee's ex boyfriend and one of her trainers), Adam Cole, Mike Elgin, AJ Styles (who really should be in WWE, but because of lack of similar competition for him such as his friend Evan Bourne, the fact that he would have to change his name - there can't be more than one AJ, apparently - no seriously, he did a promo about that when he was on TNA and backstage politics, let's just keep him in ROH for now), The Briscoe Brothers (no relation to the WWE Hall of Famers the Briscos), and the Decade (team of Jimmy Jacobs - he did wrestle for WWE for a very short period of time and is one of Seth Rollins' best friends, Roderick Strong (there was a rumor going around that he had a tryout match for WWE - no word on what happened with that, if it happened), BJ Whitmer, Adam Page and Tadarius Thompson) are some of the best that Ring of Honor has to offer today.

Now that you've had a little history lesson, the next couple of posts I put up are going to be any news I may find, results of any PPVs they have or just anything I find interesting.

So enjoy reading about my other favorite wrestling promotion! :)
