Chapter 5: New member,new strategies

Alexis turned to Giotto,her eyes widen in surprise.

"J...Join you?"Alexis asked. Giotto nodded. Alexis gritted her teeth slightly. She knew that it could be a good thing,to join this group. She could continue alone and help people one by one,but if she could help so many more by joining the group...

"The job is a harsh one for just one person to bear,so here in this group,in this family,we all work together and formulate plans,join ideas and so on...if you do not want to join I understand. I will have a carriage take you home immidiately."Giotto explained. Alexis seemed deep in thought. Should she join or not? That was the question.

"Oi,Giotto,if I join...can I live here? So I don't have to bother my dad with it?"Alexis asked.

"It can be arranged,yes."Giotto said. Alexis crossed her arms and looked down.

"Hm...even if I join...can I still steal food for the poor?"Alexis asks. Giotto stood up and walked up to her.

"Once you join you will be part of not just a group,but a family. We respect eachother,and most of all,we keep eachother safe. However,we don't do illegal things against society,that could only bring around the wrong image of what our group is really about. We don't just kill our allies or the innocent. You can do what you wish,but if you're found out while doing it..."Giotto said in a serious tone. He didn't needed to finish,Alexis seemed to understand what he was saying.

"A family,that's a word that I haven't accepted in a while."Alexis said as she looked up at Giotto. "I want to help...allow me to lend you my power and body to protect the weak."Alexis said as she offered her hand for a handshake. Giotto smiled and shook her hand.

"Then I welcome you,to the Vongola Family."Giotto said. Alexis smirked.

"Do you accept everyone just like that?"Alexis asked.

"I don't think so. However,your actions and how you handled them in yesterday's fire were an outstanding example of bravery. I want people like that with me."Giotto said. Alexis smiled.

"Well then I'll go home and pack my bags then!"Alexis said as she opened the door. From it fell the rest of the main vongola family,who had been evesdropping on the conversation this entire time. Giotto silently facepalmed.

"Hey,Alexis."Lampo said,breaking the awkwardness. "How old are you?"

"Me?"Alexis asked. "I'm 19 years old."

"Wha?! You look younger than that to the extreme!"Knuckle said.

"Which is an advantage we can use."Daemon Spade said as he stood up. "No one ever suspects a child." Alexis laughed to herself.

-A few weeks after-

Alexis had packed her bags and moved into the Vongola household as an official member,though not a ring bearer like the rest. She was given her own room and Giotto even did the favor to upgrade some of her weapons to pack more of a punch. Giotto even managed to give her a special set of marbles that would explode on impact when thrown. Alexis was ever so grateful. Around the house she did kept her male persona,wearing boy clothing incase they had any unexpected visitors. As far as anyone outside the inner circle knew,she was Alex,and was adressed as such by everyone.

"Hey G,remember we have a meeting today at 5."Alex smiled as she waved at G. G,sitting on the sofa,looked away from her,as if ignoring her. Alex growled and walked over to him. "G,are you listening to me?"Alex asked.

"I am,go away."G said. Alex whimpered a bit.

"You still can't look at me straight because of the bath incident? Come on that was weeks ago! Get over it!"Alex complained. G kept his gaze away from her. Alex glared at his stubborness and suddenly sat on his lap. G's eyes widened as he snapped her head at her.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!"G asked.

"You refuse to look at me! So I have to make you! It's not like I'm an alien. The very least you could do is look at me when I talk to you."Alex insisted.

"You're a persistant little brat."G muttered.

"See? That's more like it. Though less angry would suit you better."Alex said as she wrapped her arms around G,who blushed red.

"Hey get off!"G demanded as he got his hands on her hips,trying to push her off.

"You need to practice not to blush when I'm around,the other members might think you go the other way around for boys."Alex smirked.

"You f*cking-"Before G could finish that sentence Alex stole a kiss from him,pecking him on the lips for a mere split second before jumping off him and onto her feet. She laughed.

"You're so sensitive!"Alex said as she started to run,G chasing after her.

"Come back here!!!"G yelled when he was suddenly stopped by Daemon Spade.

"Take it easy G,she's just messing around."Daemon said.

"I don't care I'm ripping her head off!!!"G yelled.

"Maybe you could ask Giotto to ask her to stop? Surely such attitude can be forced to stop with an order. Though it's so weird she's so flirty."Daemon mutters.

"She does the same to you?"G asked.

"What? No. She knows I'm with Elena."Daemon smirked. G growled to himself as the clock striked 5. "We better get to that meeting."Daemon smiled as he and G made their way to the meeting room. Once everyone was there,Giotto started to explain.

"One of our spies has confirmed that one of our enemies' leader has a diary. He constantly writes in it. If we can get our hands on what the diary says we can prepare for what they might be planning."Giotto explaned.

"How are we going to do that?"Asari asked.

"He's hosting a party tonight. That will be our entryway. However I fear he may know all of us and if we arrive he will suspect we are up to something."Giotto said.

"I'll go."Alex said. Everyone turned their heads.

"You? What can you do?"G spat.

"Shut it pinkie!"Alex said as she picked up the invitation. "It says here it's a masquarade yes? If we just dress up he won't be able to recognize us because we'll be wearing masks. While everyone's entretained I can sneak in and take the diary."Alex suggested.

"It could work."Alaude said. Alex smiled. It was the first time she'd heard him speak.

"I really don't think we should send Alex in there. The guy's...messed in the head to say the least. If he catches her-"Daemon commented.

"He won't know I'm a she because I'm in disguise. I've been stealing food for the past year or so,surely a diary won't be much different."Alex explained. She got her hands together. "I made a pledge to do whatever it takes to help the Vongola and their goals. Let me help!"Alex insisted. The group stared at her. Even as a new member,they saw her as the playful girl that just moved in,not a member ready for missions just yet.

"Alright."Giotto said. Everyone turned to him. "It's the only slim chance we have. We're adults and we can easily be spotted. However,because Alex looks so young,she can be confused for a child,so they will ignore her more likely than us."Giotto explained. Everyone nodded. "Then it's settled. Everyone get ready."Giotto said as everyone stood up.

"Giotto I really think you should reconsider this-"G said.

"Will you stop worrying so much?"Alex interrupted. She glanced at G. "I've had to do alot of things in the past to survive. This guy can't do anything that I haven't already suffered...let me be useful how I can be ok?"Alex said as she walked out. G stared at her with wide eyes before turning to Giotto.

"Boss?"G asked. Giotto looked silently at the floor. Though he knew the answer to what G was about to ask,he would say nothing.
