"dad!!!!" charm ran to his father as soon as the door opened

rj welcomed his daughter with open arms.

"you scared me... i thought i lost you" charm whispered to his dad 

sshhh... sorry anak... i'm here and i promise you're not gonna lose me  he assured his daughter

maine watched her daughter and ex-husband from the corner of her eyes. she tried to keep a blank expression but her tears betrayed her. she wiped it quickly and made an excuse

anak, bantayan mo muna ang daddy mo kakausapin ko lang yung doctor.

"opo mom." matipid na sagot ng anak

make sure your father eats his meal, he needs to drink his meds. she reminded her daughter like rj cannot hear her then left the room abruptly

once she got out of the room

"o dad you heard mom"

i don't like hospital food charm. rj complained

"i think mom knows" she reached out to the food container on his father's bedside table  "dad it's your favorite"

he was surprised to see that it is in fact his favorite carbonara and it's evident that it's something not bought from any restaurant. he grabbed it from his daughter and started eating

"talaga ba dad? gutom lang? o sobrang namiss mo ang luto ni mommy?" panunukso ng anak

anak namiss ko itong carbonara ng mommy mo. pero yung nagluto mas na-miss ko. rj snickered

"smooth dad smooth... eh bakit di mo sabihin sa kanya?"

gusto mo bang mapalala ang sentensya ko?

"malay mo na-miss ka din nya?" charm teased

alam mo anak pag nangyari yun pakakasalan ko ulit kaagad ang mommy mo

"weh? propose ka muna kaya dad"

wag na pag nagpropose ako tanong yun eh magkakaroon pa siya ng pagkakataon na humindi

"in fairness dad ang witty mo dun!" sabay yakap nito sa ama  "pero alam mo dad... yan pa rin ang lagi kong hinihiling... sana magkabalikan kayo ni mommy"

"maine? come in" dr. marasigan gestured her to take a seat  "kumusa naman ang mag-ama?"

ok naman doc. ahm may update na po ba sa evaluation ni rj?

"nakuha ko na ang recommendation ni dr. nuevas. hindi naman kayo masyadong mahihirapan kasi base sa evaluation ni dr. nuevas very positive naman si mr. faulkerson. hindi din siya agitated. he knows he'll need more assistance to do things especially sa paglalakad at pagtayo."

ano po ang mga recommendations paglabas nya ng hospital?

"well, hindi naman magiging problema. kailangan lang naman niya ng katabi sa pagtulog so hindi na natin yun problema since nandyan naman kayo."

huh? bakit po?

"maine, siyempre he cannot stand and walk on his own and since kayo naman ang asawa—"

"maine when rj was evaluated there were two distinct factor dr. nuevas was able to establish" dr. marasigan cut her off
