Destiny

Life choices. Like the one I'm trying make right now. Should I send this resignation email, or just go in and see what happens. Crystal and Gia might be right. I might be overthinking it because I wasn't on company hours and I did nothing to get fired over.
But then again how mean that man is, this could give him the reason he has been needing to fire my ass anyway.
I look over the email again and decide to go ahead and send it. I will not give him the satisfaction. My heart jumps when it sends. Shit sucks. I really liked that job.
I start looking for another one. I need to set up at least two or three interviews as of last night.
As for my belongings at the office, I'll go get all of that later on tonight when everyone is long gone. I'll turn in my badge too. I mean I could do the adult thing and suck it up and just put in my two weeks. But under the circumstances, I think the fuck not.

Shawn

She's late. She's never late. I look down at my phone and don't see a text from her informing me that she is going to be late. By nine o'clock she has me worried. My computer dings letting me know that I have an email.
I look at the screen. It's from Destiny.
A fuckin' resignation letter.
I read it over and over again and again. I start laughing. She has me completely fucked up. She will not get away from me that easily.
The more I look at the damn thing the more it pisses me off. So I shut down my desktop.
I look out of my door at her desk. Her things are still there so this meets she thinks she's gonna sneak in here after hours to collect her shit. She has another thing coming.
I pick up the phone and call Bentley.

"Yes, Shawn." He sounds busy. I don't care.
"She is trying to quit." He can hear the desperation in my voice. This woman has me going soft.
"Did You let her?" He chuckles. The fucker thinks this shit is funny.
"She sent it through email. She didn't come in today." I pound my fist down.
"Damn. You scared the poor girl." He laughs.
"This shit is not a laughing matter, Bentley!"
He chuckles some more.
"Ok ok ok, so what are you gonna do about it, Brother?" he asks.
"I don't know" I tell him.
If I could, when she comes in to get her things I'd just take her. Make her love me. Make her want me. But that wouldn't be right. She had me wanting to do right by her and now I was at a loss. I'm not borderline crazy yet. Yes, I just said yet. If she doesn't come in tonight to try and get her things, then maybe its gonna be time to get a little crazy.
"So your just gonna let her walk?"
"Of course not!" My heart drops at the thought.
"Then what, Shawn?"
I have no reply. The thought of her leaving has my brain on stuck.
"Ok let's think..." he starts to brainstorm.
So do I.
Cause she still has to come in to get her things.
"I think I got something."
"Give it to me, Brother. Cause all my stuff involves kidnapping."
This makes me smile. We kind of blurred our bad tendencies with the good boy lifestyle we tried to live. This is why we are the best of friends.

"When she comes in I will just act as if I didn't receive the email."

"Ok. But that doesn't stop her from still leaving though."

"I will act as if last night didn't happen. Tell her that she is late and that I need her to accompany me to a business dinner tonight."
Bentley and I are getting on the same page now. He knows where I'm going.
"But it's not all business. It's just you getting down to business!!!" I can tell he's nodding his head. It was more subtle than kidnapping her. All she had to do was come in.
