A few years ago....
Amy bounced off the ground, wielding a sharp fencing sword while Aster came in from beneath her with an actual star in their hands.
The two of them hit the Boglo, a dark creature that eats the souls of mages with big, brown arms and small legs and a face that creeps mages out. Sparks of star fire came from Aster's hand while brown blood oozed out from Amy's sword.
Amy landed gracefully, swinging the sword to get rid of the blood as Aster stopped themself from bumping into her. They took a deep breath and grinned at Amy.
"That was the fifth one tonight! We're really hitting it off," Aster put a hand on Amy's shoulder.
"Totally, and this is like what? Our fourth Order together? We work really well together," Amy grinned back, fist bumping with them.
"Yup! But seriously those things don't know when to quit..." Aster shook their head with a chuckle.
"Mhm, they would've left this entire town soulless by sunrise," Amy agreed, and nodded her head. "Well, one last check and then we're done."
"Yeah, let's hope there's no more, I'm gonna feel all that in the morning," Aster groaned, stretching their back as Amy laughed.
"You're a loser! I don't feel anything even after intense stuff like that," Amy grinned.
"Oh ho, lucky you," Aster rolled their eyes. "You're so full of yourself aren't you?"
"Wellllllllllll, I can be overconfident sometimes," Amy's eyes glimmered with confidence that Aster couldn't see.
"Alright cocky pants, let's get going. The sooner we're done the better," Aster rolled their eyes with a smile and started to walk.
"Hey, you wanna hang out tomorrow? Of course if you don't mind, I won't be offended if you say no," Amy walked next to them.
"I think I'm free, so yeah," Aster nodded their head, their hands behind their head. "Why the sudden invitation?"
"Because I know I'm gonna be working with you for awhile, may as well get to know the mage underneath the mask right?" Amy grinned, curiosity shined this time and Aster couldn't help but chuckle.
"Alright, I'll be able to see who you are under the mask as well," Aster nudged her. "And I'm pretty excited to see your face-wait, that sounds weird."
"Haha, nope!" Amy grinned and Aster looked relieved. "It's totally weird," Amy added and Aster's face fell.
"Hey, don't be like that...I feel like I just crushed all your hopes and dreams," Amy attempted to cheer up Aster, feeling guilty.
"You are a mean one Red Sport. A real meanie," Aster pouted.
"Aw, I'm sorry!" Amy apologized, looking even more concerned.
"It's fine," Aster laughed. "It's whatever really."
"Oh gosh I feel like punching you," Amy narrowed her eyes. "Can I?"
