I stack, and restack the shelves as I sigh. Why is tonight going by so slow?

"Hey, Madi?" My coworker, Sandy approaches me.

"Yes?" I smile a little while stacking shelves.

"Can you take over the register? Alexia went home early, and she was supposed to.."

"Didn't she leave early yesterday, too?" I ask moving to the next shelf.

"Yeah, she said she has schooling to do. I think its complete sh-excuse me-crap if, if you ask me." Sandy has a bad problem with cursing. I find it funny when she has to correct herself, especially when talking to customers.

"Yeah, I'll take the register." I smile and hop off the stool.

"Thanks." She smiles and starts stacking shelves.

I sigh as I take the seat at the register. I type in my code, and begin ringing up the customers groceries. "That'll be $30.25, please." I smile as they dig for the change.

"Oh, dear..I don't have a quarter." The sweet old lady says with a frown. She always comes in here with her husband, I wonder where he is today.

I fish in my pockets and find a quarter. "I got it, hon." I say as I take the cash and change, putting it in the register.

"Bless your soul." She smiles at me before pushing her cart out of the store and to her car. People like that make me love my job.

Around closing time, four boys come rushing through the door. I already know who it is. Luckily, I'm back to stacking shelves.

"Duude!" Ashton says as he picks up a huge cantaloupe. "I've never seen one this big!"

"Yeah, I bet that's what Madi told Michael." Luke says.

I instantly drop all my things and my eyes grow huge.

"Oh, hi, Madi." They all say with a smirk slash smile.

"Uhm, hi, guys." I say picking up the things I dropped.

"How's work?" Calum asks slinging an arm around my shoulder.

"Worky." I respond as I finish my last shelf. "Why are you here anyway?" I ask walking to the front of the store

"Is it wrong to come see my lady while she's at work?" Michael asks sitting behind the register in the seat.

"Provided that she works at a grocery store, and its almost closing time;yes." I laugh as I pull him away from the computer before he locks it up. "Now, go wait outside for me. I'll be done in a few."

"But, Madi.."

"No buts," I say pushing the four of them out and locking the doors.

"So, you're friends with 5 Seconds Of Summer?" Sandy asks checking the aisles.

"Yes, unfortunately." I say sarcastically. "But, they're great people. I've been friends with the one with pink hair, Michael, for eight years." I say walking to the front of the store again. I laugh when I notice them making funny faces through the window.

"Everything looks good, Madi." Sandy says walking to me. She follows my focus and begins laughing too.

"Ready?" I ask walking away, to the back exit

"Ready." Sandy follows and shuts the lights off. We escape through the back way. Sandy drives off in her blue convertible, and I make my way to the band.

"Oh my God! What if that chick murdered her?!" Ashton is freaking out, and the others just laugh.

"Yeah, she totally murdered me when I'm standing right here." I say laughing. I take my uniform shirt off, and tie my hair back.

"Long night?" Michael asks sliding an arm around my waist.

"Very." I say before kissing his cheek.

"Well, that sucks. We had a slow fun night." He smiles and I push him off me.

"Shut up! Go away." I end up pushing him into Luke.

"I'll take you, Michael! I love you." Luke says holding him close. Michael fakes crying, and we all laugh.

"You're such an idiot." I say. Before we know it, we're already at the apartment.

"Wait!" Michael yells stepping in front of me.

"Yes, Michael?" I ask grabbing my keys.

"I want to unlock the door." He takes the keys out of my hand and turns the lock. "That's all."

I take the keys from him and roll my eyes. The other three come rushing in behind me. "You four are such kids. I swear. Shouldn't you be visiting your parents and siblings, anyway? Ya know, before you leave again." I say shutting the door.

"I have you know-"

"Yes, Michael, I know. You're an only child, but, you still have parents." I cut him off.

"Yeah, I guess. But, I'll visit them tomorrow when you're at work." He grabs some food and sits on the sofa.

"Yeah, well, I'm off tomorrow." I say chewing down on a fruit bar and sitting beside him.

"Damn, really? Then, we'll go together."

"Nope. I have no business being there. Its your parents. Not mine."

"Of course you do. When was the last time you seen my parents?" Michael asks as the other three rush in the living area.

"A week before you came back." I say.

"Oh really? So, if I call my mum right now, she'd confirm that story?" Michael says taking his phone out of his pocket.

"I suppose. You can call and see for yourself." I shrug and take another bite of my fruit bar.

"Ugh! Why do I even try? My mum loves you more than she loves her own child!"

"Awh, Mikey, I'm sorry." I laugh and ruffle up his hair.

"Stop.."

"Okay." I throw my trash away, and let everyone know I'm going to bed. "Goodnight, guys. Don't mess up the place, please?"

"We'll try not to, Madi." Ashton says with his adorable smile. I walk up to my room, and put some sweatpants on and leave my tank top on.

I brush my hair out and let it dangle behind my shoulders again. I go to the bathroom and remove my makeup. It doesn't take long, though.

I brush my teeth, and return back to my bedroom. I close the door, turn the light off, and lay in bed.

I begin to close my eyes, and my door opens. I ignore it because I know its one of the boys.

"Goodnight, Madison!" They all sing and kiss my cheeks.

"Goodnight, guys." I smile and give them each hugs and kisses.

Calum, Ashton, and Luke leave my room. Michael stays.

He crawls in bed next to me, and I can feel his warmth from his body.

"Damn, Michael. You're hot."

"I know, right? Its about time someone told me that!"

"No, I mean, yes, but..Your body temperature is hot."

"Thank you, and thank you." Michael rolls over to face me, and he kisses my nose. "You're a cutie."

"No, I'm not." I say while kissing his nose. "I appreciate the complement though." Our legs become intertwined and we hold hands.

"You need to accept it and believe it, because its true." Michael kisses me, and I smile.

"I love you, Michael."

"I love you too, Madi."

And just like that, we fell asleep. Intertwined and all.
