The guys had went out somewhere. So, its just me, myself, and I.
I walk down the steps, checking the time. 5:00pm.
I run my fingers through my hair, messily putting it up.
When I walk in the kitchen, I see a figure standing in front of me.
"Holy shit, Calum." I grab hold of him, laughing. "Don't do that to me again."
Calum turns around, grabbing hold of my arm. "I'm sorry, Madison. I was just hungry."
I continue laughing, falling into him. "I just thought I was the only one home."
"Sorry to ruin your mood, but, uh, I didn't go with them. I feel bad, still, for arguing with you. I'm sorry, Madison. I didn't mean for it to come out. I just...I got so mad because of that stupid dare you gave me," Cal smiles, "I still haven't paid that ticket.."
I frown again.
"I'm sorry for that, Calum.. I didn't know officers were out, especially by the place. I didn't mean to fuck our relationship up. I was just angry."
"I understand. I would've the same." Cal turns back around toward the refrigerator and rummages through it. "Damn, Madison. You need to go grocery shopping."
"Hey, I don't have a job right now. I'm looking for one then I'll go grocery shopping. Until that time, you four could really help me out." I exhaustingly take a seat at the table.
Calum fishes in his pocket before sliding his hand out.
"Let's, go." He flashes me a smile.
"Calum, you can go. I'm good being home." I let out a relaxed sigh and smirk.
"Madison Hailey, come on. Please?"
"Calum Thomas, I don't want to."
I feel my seat raise up and eventually, I realize I'm off the ground.
"Calum! You best put me down, right now!" I grab hold tightly to the sides of the chair. I cross my legs and close my eyes. "Please?!?" I beg one last time.
"Alright, alright." He gently sits the chair and I down.
"Thank you." I get up and straighten myself out. "I'll go grocery shopping with you. Let me get shoes."
*
Cal and I have been walking through the store for almost two hours now with an empty cart.
We've not actually been looking for food. We've been goofing off.
"Madison! They're the same as yours!" Calum holds up two enormous cantaloupes to his chest.
"Indeed, but mine a real." I laugh as we get stares from everyone in the store.
Parents are rushing their kids out of the produce section into other sections of the store.
"Seriously though, Cal. We need to begin shopping at the least." I wipe away a few tears of happiness.
"We can begin with these." Calum places the cantaloupes in the cart side by side.
"No one eats cantaloupes in the house." I laugh
"Oh, I know. It's just something for me to say I have the same size boobs as you." Cal shrugs and continues throwing fruits and vegetables in the cart.
I leave him the cart and go looking for some food you can cook.
I grab a few meats, not a lot because I find it disgusting, and a few cases of soda for the boys. I place the items in the cart and grab a few cases of water for me.
I go down the next aisle to grab a few breakfast snacks for us all.
"Madison, this is taking for-ev-er." Calum groans, pushing the cart, full of produce, towards me.
"Oh, suck it up. I'm doing the shopping. You're doing the produce shopping thing." I throw two boxes of fruit bars in the front of the cart.
"Now, are we finished?" I ask.
"Shopping, yes. Goofing around, no." He walks away from the cart and I and walks to the toy aisle.
He comes back with two masks and two swords.
"Take them." I grab a mask and a sword.
"Can we at least pay for this?" I chuckle putting the mask on.
"Silence!"
I play along and, in an appropriate voice, say, "My dear friend. You have come a long way. It is oh so heartbreaking, the fact you've traveled a so tiringly long way to be defeated by I, the queen of all produce."
"I, the king of all produce, think not. Let the war...begin!"
Calum and I stick each other with the swords, causing a scene.
I drop my sword and mask on the ground. I begin laughing.
I never knew two teenagers could be so childish.
I never knew I'd have so much fun in the grocery store.
That was all before Calum and I became friends.
I'm glad.
