You chose to leave.

Dark smiled somberly, giving you a nod of approval. You grit your teeth together, tears running down your face as the guilt consumed you. You and Wilford ran towards the door with your heads hung in shame.

"Abe, go!" Wilford yelled, dragging you out of the door behind him as fast as he possibly could. As the house went up in flames, you saw Damien and the DA being thrown off of Mask's arms as he stumbled towards the door. Suddenly, he was pulled back and the flaming house collapsed with no indication if Dark was okay or not.

"Come, (Y/N), we can't do anything now." Wilford said with a tear running down his face, dragging you away from the rubble with an arm slung loosely on your shoulder.

You knew there was no way Dark could've survived, but you would be damned if you didn't check. Long after the house had stopped burning, you went to check to see if you could at least find his body. He deserved a proper burial after all. Mark and Wilford were kind enough to accompany you, though you could tell that they had no hope. After searching through the rubble where he should've been, you found nothing. It was as if he had never been there.

"What the bloody hell?" Wilford frowned, placing his hands on his hips. "He should be here somewhere."

"Maybe he got pushed into the ground by the house falling on him or something." Mark suggested, seemingly just as perplexed as Wilford. "You don't think someone would've taken his body, do you?

"Who would do such a thing?" Wilford asked as your head began to throb. Maybe it would be best if you just took a step back from all of this just for a moment.

"I don't know, Will." Mark shook his head with a deep frown. "I don't know."

Even though you were still grieving the loss of Dark, you decided it would be best if you got out and did something instead of staying locked away in your room. You needed a distraction from this whole cluster fuck.

"Hey, Jack." You said with a ghost of a smile as you gave him a hug. You were just arriving to the Ethan's Christmas party.

"It's been a while, hasn't it?" He said calmly, pulling back with a small smile. "Anti told me about what happened."

"Yeah."

"If you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm here." Jack said as the two of you walked up to Ethan's door. He knocked on it softly.

"Thanks." You replied curtly, not really wanting to think about that stuff. You were here to spend a night forgetting what happened.

"What is up my cranky crew?" Ethan said as he whipped open the door with a wide smile.

"How many times are you going to use your intro as a greeting?" You asked, attempting to lighten the mood.

"Awe, you watch my videos then?" Ethan teased back, stepping aside to let the two of you in. "How sweet!"

You rolled your eyes as you were greeted by your other friends with smiles on their faces. Within a little under four months, you felt like you had made a second family with all of these people and you were so glad you had them in a time like this. They were always here when you needed them the most.

During the party, you couldn't help but feel distracted. There were times when your friends would be talking to you and you'd start getting an incredibly painful headache. It got so bad that you didn't think you could stand staying here any longer.

"Hey, I gotta go." You said, pulling Ethan aside for a moment. "I'm not feeling very well."

"Alright, (Y/N)." He nodded, clearly worrying about you again. You had to stop wearing your emotions on your sleeves. Ethan didn't deserve anymore stress. "Drive safe."
