Athena, Floris, Ray, Gerard, and Frank sat around Floris' coffee table, celebrating his and Athena's two month anniversary. His hand sat on her thigh, his fingers tapping as he moved his fingers upper thigh, getting under her skirt.
"Florist, stop that." She said and she pushed his hand down. Floris groaned softly, obviously frustrated.
"Will you stop being so fucking uptight?" He asked, irritated. Athena cross her arms tightly looking over to Gerard. His head was turned towards Frank, making it hard for her to make eye contact. She wanted to give him a look that read "help me", uncomfortable.
"Fucking stop it." Athena said again, beginning to get angry with Floris. Floris only moved his hand up further, being stubborn. Arhen stood, walking to Floris's bathroom, only to have Floris stand and follow her into the dark hallway.
He forced her against the wooden wall, his hands resting on her shoulders. Athena squirmed, but Floris' grip was like steel.
"Don't you dare tell me no again." He said harshly, spit flying on her face. She whimpered, rubbing her shoulders as he logo.
He turned sharply, walking back into the living room with a smile on his face. She entered the bathroom, turning on the water and splashing it on her face.
Athena sighed when she looked into the mirror. She had been so sleep-deprived because Floris wanted to text her all night. Her bags were bigger than they ever been before.
She dried her face lightly, then walked back out into the living room. LaRosa's hand return to the spot on earth II, Athena just leaving it there. She was tired of fighting with him.
"I'm glad you finally lightened up a little, baby girl." He said whispered in her ear. She cringed as his breath fanned over the back of her neck, making him give her a dirty look. Gerard abruptly stood, walking to get his shoes on. He turned back to everyone, excluding Ray who had stumbled back to the kitchen to get another drink. He then turned to face Athena.
"Do you need a ride home tonight?" He asked, his eyebrow raised. Floris squeezed her thigh, making her look at him. He shook his head no discretely. "It's getting past curfew and I know you you can't drive yet. I'm heading out now, so I figured you'd want a ride." He said, waiting patiently for an answer.
"Yeah. That would be nice, Gerard. Thanks." She said, feeling Floris' grip tighten. She stood awkwardly, the pain leaving once was fully standing. "Bye, Floris." She said, pressing a kiss to his cheek uncomfortably.
She tied to put her shoes on her black flats on quickly, making the blisters that were already on her feet even worse. She sighed and turned back to everyone. "Bye guys. I'll see you later." She said, grabbing her phone and opening the door, Gerard right behind her. His hand was on the small of her back, pushing her lightly.
Gerard opened the passenger side door for her and closing it once she was fully in. He angrily walk to the other side, slamming the door once he climbed in.
"Why do you stay with him?" Gerard asked, his hands slamming against the steering wheel. He laid his head between his hands in the middle of the wheel.
"I... I don't know." She aighed, rubbing her temples. The drive to her house was silent, not even the dull sound of the radio breaking the awkwardness.
Once there, she thanked him quietly, climbing out, making sure to grab her phone. Her phone had been vibrating loudly, Floris texting her. She knew that if she had left, he would be jealous and would suspect something. She sighed and dialled his number as she walked inside. He answered on the first ring, his voice overpowering hers.
"What were you thinking?!" He yelled, his voice making the small girls slouch in the chair she was now sitting in.
"I needed to get home and he was offering a ride. Calm down, Floris. Athena said quietly, her voice shaking due to the probability of a fight. She heard him sigh loudly.
"Whatever, but don't fucking disobey me again." He said angrily, hanging up right after. She stood, walking into her bedroom and changing into a pair of pajamas.
She crawled into bed, not bothering to take off her makeup, knowing it would smudge and be all over her pillow by the morning. She thought about what Gerard had said about staying with Floris. She honestly didn't know why she stayed with him. It could have been all because of his dad's work, since her dad worked for him, maybe she was afraid of Floris. All she knew was that she was completely miserable because of him, and she wanted out.
She stayed curled up as tears rolled down her cheeks. She was shaking, Floris had broken her down and hurt her. A soft cry fell from her lips as she sobbed into a pillow. Bert ran in, sitting on her bed as he started rubbing her back.
"Shh, baby. Just calm down. Take deep breaths." He whispered softly and pulled her against him. Athena turned to face him, burying her face in his chest as she sobbed. Bert managed to calm her down, whispering sweet nothings in her ear.
Athena closed her eyes, the last tear sliding down her cheek. Bert kissed the top of her head, sighing softly. "What happened?"
"Floris is just an asshole." She whispered and looked up at her father, wiping her eyes. Bert stayed silent, pulling his daughter into another hug.
"I'm sorry." He whispered after a moment, sitting up in her bed. "Are you going to be okay?"
"I should be." Athena whispered softly, seeing how tired her father was. She didn't want to keep him up with her problems, though she knew she wouldn't be getting any sleep. None at all.
Bert sat with her for another few minutes before standing.
"Alright." He whispered and kissed her head, walking out.
