Chapter 21
A sign?
"The lake is beautiful today." "Yes." I reply, "Yes it is..." I grip his hand tighter in mine as I walk alongside him. I suddenly laugh, remembering a time at our old house... "Remember when you called me clingy?" He chuckles. "We were but young."

"Sasori!" I yell. He's no where in sight. I sigh. I call a little louder. No answer. Ugh, I hate it when he just goes off on his own with no warning... What if something happened to him? My eyes go wide. Just then, I feel his familiar arms wrap around my waist. I slightly suck in a breath. He chuckles. "A little jumpy, are we?" He asks, coyly. I turn around and glare at him. "What?" He asks. "Don't scare me like that!" I say, he looks confused.
"Don't look at me like that!" I say, "you can't just go off on your own without telling me!" He scoffs. "I don't have to tell you every single thing I do, Deidara..." "Yeah, but you should tell me if you leave!" I reply, crossing my arms. "What are you, my Mom?" Ye yells. Uh oh, he's getting triggered... He continues, "Well maybe I would if I didn't think you'd follow me!" What? I look at him confused. "What are you talking about, Sasori?" "Ugh! You're so clingy!"
{END FLASHBACK}
It's been another two years of nonevent full bliss. I've become closer to the one that I love. I've let go of my fear of losing him. We spend out days enjoying our time, loving each other. It's now been four whole years since we left the akatsuki, and today, in the perfect spring air, it feels like life couldn't get better.
"Look, there's a hawk." He whispers, pointing to a tree not far from us. We stop where we stand, observing the beautiful creature. "It reminds me of Itachi." We both smile sadly at the memory. He was one of the only ones to have ever turned out to be quite a decent person... The hawk soars up into the air, it's beautiful feathers glinting in the sun.
"Do you ever regret it?" He asks, as we begin to walk again. "Regret what?" "Leaving." "No." "Why?" "Because even though, I admit, it's caused so much pain, it's caused even more love and happiness and for that I cannot be more great full. Remember, everything happens for a reason..." He smiles. "Do you?" I ask. "No." "Why?" "Because, I've got you, and nothing can compare to this."
He stops, taking both my hands in his. "All we can ever do as humans is go where life takes us. If you think about it, there is never 'a fork in the path', because in life, if you come to a decision, you're destined to make whatever choice you should." I gaze down at our hands, joined together. I nod. "You and I are like the sun and the moon..." I whisper. "How so?"
"When one of us rises, the other always seems to fall... We're always there, but we always end up somehow out of sight. I suppose that's how it is when you love someone, because even if you do set, you always rise again for that person. That is how we are like the sun and moon." I finish. "Yes, I agree." We begin to walk once more. "But keep in mind, that I shall never resent." "Nor shall I, my Danna."
I love him and he knows so. Even of he is the sun, and I the moon, we keep each other going. We continue to walk for a ways along the bank of the lake, the sparkling water sending me into a daze of thought... "Look." He says again. "The moon is out early his evening..." I look up into the sky. The sun is still up, and yet, right next to it, you can see the moon sure and clear. "It's almost full." I gaze at him. "A sign?" He asks with a smirk. "A sign or not, whether we take it as one determines so." He chuckles. "Ah, I see... Well, it is a sign, then." We walk.
