Aurora
The drive to the lake seemed endless. It felt like we were in the car for five hours instead of three.
After I woke for a second time today I felt even more sad. Layla knows how much this place means to me. Not only because of my dad. But Kyle too. This is where Kyle and I became a real couple...he told me he loved me for the first time here...he made a big speech about it to my whole family over a fire. I talked about for months.
"Rory how much further to we have to drive?" Kennedy asked. "Those boys are driving me crazy." She added.
I looked in the back seat at Liam, Brett and Brett's friend Micky. They have been wrestling...and saying 'That's what she said' and just being totally annoying for three hours now. It's like they haven't even taken a break to breath.
Kennedy and I were stuck driving with them. Just us to girls and them.
I shrugged. "Like thirty minuets or so." I said
"This dirt road is a never ending twisty SOB and it's getting my pretty white car dirty.''
I just laughed at her.
"How can you deal with camping?" She asked.
"I usually hate the wilderness. I hate bugs and I hate feeling trapped. But there is something about camping that makes me feel like I could live in the wilderness forever."
She smiled. "That is a really cute and inspirational story...but if even one bugs crawls on me...I will be leaving."
"Shut up Kenny. You're such a Debby Downer!" Brett said.
"I'm sorry Brett, but last time you seen a spider you jumped onto of the island and screamed for Max to come kill it." Kennedy said back.
"Yeah, but then he through it at me and I took it like a man "
"Fuck off, man...you did a flip of the island and had to get stitches on your head!" Liam said.
Micky laughed a crazy contagious laugh. "You are such a loser!' He said.."Why don't just grow a vagina and be a chick."
"Why don't you.." Brett said and then I turned back around and tuned them out.
"They are so stupid." Kennedy said and took a sharp turn sending them flying into each others laps.
"Kenny!" They all yelled.
She laughed.."Sorry boys."

Being stuck in a car with Layla and Kyle is enough to make me want to through myself out the door in the freeway. It's bad enough living with her, and basically Kyle. Now I have to ride in a car with them. At least I have my daughter.
"Daddy! I am so sick of this car.."
"We'll be there in a minuet." I said.
"This wind is ruining my hair!" She said.
"Well roll your window up."
"Daddy, you just don't understand." She said holding her hand up and nodding her head.
"What?" I said and looked at her trying not to laugh.
"Daddy." She said and looked at me shaking her head.
She is being such a little snot. I don't even know where she picked up this attitude. And the fact that she woke up at 7:00 am today, doesn't make her attitude any better.
"Tins, why don't you try and go to sleep."
She gave me a dirty look then looked out her window, resting her head in the palm of my hands.
