Aurora
I hate myself. Why on earth would I tell him I slept with Jaxson? It was a moment of weakness and I had the choice to shut my mouth, but I decided to fight fire with fire and I told him.
"Stupid." I say out loud as I slam into my room.
I pace back and forth from my window to my door. I want to go back there and tell him I'm sorry. I do, I really do. But how?
I fling myself onto my bed after debating with myself for at least ten minuets. The house has fallen silent and I heard Max pull out of the drive way a few minuets ago.
Why won't he just tell me? What is his big secret?
I'm done trying to guess what is going on. Whatever Greg wants I'll give it to him. Max must know something, he and Greg are always together. Always.
His room! Maybe I won't have to go to Greg after all. That was a bad idea anyway. I'll just go look for clues in his room, It's empty and he won't be back for a few hours. Now is the best time to look around. But if he comes home there is no question on what will happen. Today was the second time I've been his room. He doesn't even let Tinsley in there.
I close my eyes and breathe a few times deeply before getting up. Then I walk into Max's room.
It smells like him un here. This is one scent I've missed. while being in Florida. He smells like wood and the ocean with a little hint of musk. His smell could possibly intoxicate me.
The first thing I see is an empty spot where his lap top usually sits. His bed is ruffled through and all his drawers are pulled open. He must have been looking for something.
I don't even know where to start searching. I'm not a snoop and I always get caught when I do decide to snoop.
"Come on Max. Help me out a little." I whisper to myself.
I walk over to his desk and see his phone laying down. I pick it up and unlock it easily.
Tinsley's birthday.
I look through all his texts and find nothing. He doesn't even save his contacts under names. Just numbers. I find it odd, but the way he is acting it doesn't surprise me.
I sit down in the desk chair and spin a few times. I can't seem to find anything in here. This was a unless mission.. Maybe he knew I would search around. That's why it is a mess. His room has never been messy. It's always clean.
I sigh and I am about to give up when his phone vibrates.
2009
Maxwell, we have an emergency at the wear house. Get here ASAP. I think someone is spying on us. We need to be more careful.
G.
I try to stay calm but I can't. I feel like crying is my best option here. Greg wants me dead because Max has feelings for me? How does that make sense in anyway? I know there is more to this story. There has to be. So what is it?
I inhale deeply then stand up and leave the room, almost hitting Jaxson on my way out. His eyes are red and puffy like he was crying.
"Are you okay?" I asked grabbing his arm.
"Can I talk to you about something?" He asked.
I nodded. "Of course."
He leads me to the guest room, he leaves the door open so everyone must be gone.
"I went to see my brother and his girlfriend."
I nodded. "How did it go?" I already know my answer just by looking at his eyes.
