Chapter 31, You're okay!

Y/N's POV:

I woke up in an unknown room with a massive headache. I tried to get my eyes to focus on my surroundings and when they did, I realized it was a very bland room with the only things that stood out of the bland theme of the room being a heart monitor and an IV. I then realized I was in a hospital room. I looked  around more and noticed somebody in the far right of the room, sleeping on a chair. He had brown hair and bags under his eyes. I honestly thought it was Laurance and started imagining all the movie clichés where the girl wakes up and the boy is relieved and they both live a long life and get married, but I remembered we broke up. I looked at the boy again and saw his hair was much darker and that he had a scarf around his neck. I immediately recognized my youngest brother, Vylad. I gasped in surprise and I guess it was louder than expected, because he woke up and fell off the chair. When he saw me, he got scared, almost as if I was only his imagination and not actually awake. He came up to me and pinched me, to which I let out a yelp and that's when he hugged me and told me he'll be right back and that he needed to alert a nurse.

He really did come back not much later, it felt like only 2 minutes had passed since he left. He came in with a nurse and tears in his eyes, but a smile on his face, a smile of relief. The nurse did a checkup on things like my pulse and other necessary things, while saying multiple times that I was lucky to be alive. After 15 minutes she left and said she'll let me catch up with my brother. 

"You're really alive." He said while wiping at his tears

"I'm sorry Vylad, but what happened?" I asked with a tone of confusion

"Gene gave you too much sleeping pills when he kidnapped you so many nights ago and he didn't think much of it, but he gave you so much, it induced a coma. The doctors were certain you wouldn't survive, since it was basically an overdose of sleeping drugs."

"But when did he give me them?"

"Anastasia says it was while you were still unconscious from losing oxygen when he and Ivy put that bag over your head."

"So he forced them down my throat? Isn't he supposed to be in jail?"

"He was for a week, Ivy too, but they let them out and only made them do like 600 hours of community service each."

"That's so unfair! I could've died! I probably also missed 3 weeks worth of homework and projects!"

"What?" Vylad looks at me with a hint of surprise in his eyes

"What, did I say something wrong?" I ask

"Y/N, you weren't out 3 weeks, you were out 6 months." He finishes and winces at the thought

"I- WHAT?!" 

"I know, I'm the only one who still had hope, apart from Zane, but he had an exam today so he didn't come. We change shifts. We've been here everyday."

"Vylad that's so sweet. I'll thank Zane later." I hug him and kiss his cheek "But what about everyone else?"

 Vylad gave a sad sigh before starting his explanation "Mom and dad haven't left the house ever since they visited you in this hospital room for the first time, the sight of you sleeping, face pale, broke them way too much for them to bare it everyday when they should've came and checked up on you. Garroth has been ignoring everybody and has only been focusing on baseball, since it's always distracted him. Anastasia, Katelyn, Aphmau and Kawaii-Chan have been crying basically every day, with Travis trying to comfort them. Dante has been busy with the dance club and he's also been as sad as the girls. Cadenza has been heartbroken and doesn't even make outfits anymore. She doesn't have inspiration. Everything seems bland for her. Laurance..." He looked down for a second before his emerald green eyes found mine again "Laurance hasn't been himself. He doesn't play soccer, he barely eats, barely keeps hydrated, barely sleeps, and I've never seen him cry so much. He stayed locked in this room with you, alone, for the first week. But he saw nothing was happening so he left. He hasn't been here since. He does buy you your favorite flowers, and he makes either me or Zane bring them here." He gestures to the flower bouquets scattered around the room with his hands "Besides buying you flowers, showing up to class, which doesn't happen a lot, I've heard so from Dante, he's been out to get the Shadow Knights and Ivy."
