Chapter 7, The real challenge

Y/N's POV:

We finished helping Garroth and I decided to talk with Teodora about boys.

"Hey girl." I say walking into her room

"Oh, hey Y/N!" 

"I need to talk to you about something."

"Yeah?"

"It's random, but I'm wondering if you like someone..."

"Oh! Sure."

"Ok. Tell me." I wink at her

"Well, there's Dante of course.... but there's also someone else...."

"Who?!" 

"G-Garroth...."

"OH MY IRENE!!!!" 

"Y/N!! DON'T TELL!!!"

"Okay, Teodora, I won't."

"Okay, thank you. Can you please leave now? I have a bunch of work to do."

"Of course. Goodbye!" I hug her and leave

10 Minutes later, Y/N's POV:

"GARROTH!!!!" I yell

"What!?" he answers 

"I come bearing good news!~~~"

"Yes?!"

"Come down and I'll tell you..."

"Coming!"

"Okay, ready?"

"Wait. Is it that Teodora doesn't like Dante and I just need to really impress her?"

"No. Even better."

"Yes?"

"She likes you AND Dante!"

"That's better? Are you kidding me?"

"Not at all."

"Then let's get to work."

"As you wish Mr. Ro'Meave." I wink

"Stop it Ms. Ro'Meave." 

"Fine."

"This will be really hard."

"It will be the real challenge."

"I agree sis."

I got him ready. I put on comfortable clothes and left a little after Garroth and went and hid in a bush in the park so I can see them and hear them talk. Just then, I heard someone behind me. They grabbed me by the waist and I was about to scream but they put their hand on my mouth.

"We don't want them to hear, do we?" said a voice I loved hearing.

"Laurance!" I half whispered, half screamed

"Hey." he hugged me "What are they doing?"

"You mean what is Garroth doing."

"Yeah, okay."

"He's going to ask Teodora on a date, now shush."

And we listened.

"See, Teodora, I was wondering if you would go out with me?"

"Did someone dare you to do this Garroth?"

"Not at all."

"Well... I guess I can go out with you."

"Really?!"

"Sure." Teodora kissed him on the cheek.

I started to run far away from them and Laurance followed.

"What is it?" he asked

"OH MY POTATOES! HE ACTUALLY DID IT!!!!!" I screamed

"I see..." he laughed

"Why are you so cute when you laugh?"

"It's natural."

"Typical." 

"Come on. Let's go walk." 

"Sure."

We walked and held hands.

"Hello love birds." Gene said

"Go. Away." I said

"I'm not here for you princess. I'm afraid your boyfriend knows exactly why." he smirked

"Not now Gene." Laurance said

"Awww, C'mon. You haven't told her? What's the fun in that? I wanted to see tears right here."

"I am not going to tell her in front of you."

Just then I got a text.

Terana= TER  Y/N= Y/N

TER= I might as well tell you your boyfriend did a good thing joining us.

Y/N= Us? Who do you mean?

TER= The Shadow Knights dummy. 😉

Y/N= HE WHAT?!

TER= Ask him yourself.

I asked.

"Did you or did you not join the Shadow Knights?" I asked while gritting my teeth and barely holding in tears.

"Y/N, I... I...."

"He did join us princess." Gene said

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!"

"Y/N! I DID IT THINKING IT WAS THE BEST OPTION. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WOULD DO!"

"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!"

"You just wait princess...Now, Laurance tell her what you need to tell her."

"Y/N, we're...we're.... over." tears were falling down his cheeks and mine. I wanted to brush them off. I couldn't. I knew this was a mistake. I knew getting my crush as my boyfriend was way too good to be true and it will be over very fast. I still risked it and I'm the one who got hurt. I guess you would call that karma. 

"I... hate... you... all..." I said and I ran. I ran far, far away. I heard Gene laughing and Laurance say something that almost made me go back. But I didn't.

"YOU RUINED ALL THE GOOD THINGS I HAD!"

"It's not over yet Laurance. Just wait. She will tell Garroth and you won't just lose her. You will lose EVERYONE." He laughed again

Gene was right. I did tell Garorth. And my mom, dad, Vylad and even Zane. They were all sad, but not as sad as me. I cried and cried until I thought I needed to drink more water to be able to produce more tears. I was hurt, broken. Freshman year was going pretty bad, except some things.
