Plans Change || Eight

Cariah's POV:

I woke up to the sound of a door cracking open then closing. I looked at the time on my phone and saw it was 11AM. I also never got a text back from my dad.

'Went to a friends house for the night'
Read 2:10am

"Oh hey good morning. I hope I didn't wake you" Colby said as he came into the room with no shirt on.

"No I woke up on my own" I said.

"Oh okay well do you wanna go to ihop? Just me and you so we can catch up" Colby suggested.

"Sounds like a plan" after I got up and got ready Colby and I decided to go in my car.

"You drive or do you want me to drive?" He asked.

"You got a license?" I asked.

"Yes" he said as if stating the obvious.

"You drive then because I don't" I said tossing him the keys.

"Wait you don't have a license? And you drove over here" he asked as we got in the car.

"Yup. Pretty risky but my dad lets me drive wherever whenever" I said.

"You have a permit though right?"

"Nope"

"Oh my lord how have you not gotten your car taken away?" He asked as he started driving.

"I have once but my dad paid to get it back and then let me keep driving it" I said.

"Oh my god Jackson" Colby said.

"So how did you feel when Crystal told you everything?" Colby asked. We just finished eating and Colby offered to pay the bill even tho I insisted on splitting it. He already gave them his card so we were just waiting for his card to come back so we could leave.

"I felt sad. My dad had told me this was my life for the past 17 years and now it's actually been something completely different"

"Yeah well your dad was definitely something else in high school so I'm not surprised he's still the same"

"How was he in high school?"

"He has a reputation. Every girl knew not to mess with him because he would only want one thing, then he'd completely stop talking to them. And I guess he somehow got your mom to believe him, they slept together, and he wanted nothing to do with her" Colby explained.

"Wow. What a douchebag" I said.

"Yeah"

"Well at least my mom found a nice good looking guy after my heartless dad" I said.

"I mean he's bad but I don't think he could have been bad enough for you to call him heartless" he said. I took a deep breath.

"When I was 16 I found out I was pregnant. I wasn't in a relationship with the guy it was just a friend that I was comfortable with and he was comfortable with me and so we decided to lose our virginities to each other. But we didn't use protection or birth control. 3 weeks later I found out I was pregnant and even though I didn't want to I told my dad. Because I needed an adult. And do you want to know what the first thing was he said to me" I said.

"What?"

"Okay well I'll make you an appointment to get an abortion. Don't want you to make the same mistake I did" I said repeating the words my dad told me.

"Are you fucking serious?" Colby asked in disbelief.

"It just never bugged me because I never thought about the fact that he had me when he was in high school till Crystal told me everything. So there I went to planned parenthood and had an abortion. At 16 years old. And I pretty much didn't have a choice"

"Well..did you want to have a baby?" He asked.

"No. But I wasn't even given time to think about it. Maybe if I was given time to think about it maybe I would have had a baby. But i had no say or time. It was just pregnancy test, tell my dad, off to planned parenthood" I said and I could feel myself crying.

"Cariah Im so sorry please don't cry" Colby said as he got up from his side of the booth, came over to mine and hugged me while I cried in his arms.

"My whole life I've not only been lied to but I've been controlled. And not like a parent should control their kid. I've just be too naive to realize it" I said still crying. Not even caring that we're in an ihop. Eh it wasn't full anyway since they just opened.

"No Cariah you're not naive. You're a smart, beautiful girl who just never thought her dad would do anything like that to her. You're dad may be a dick but your mom was an amazing, caring, woman who you take after. Not only are you beautiful just like her but you're personality is just like her. Which is a good thing" he said. I stopped crying and wiped my face. I looked up at him and did something pretty stupid and that some would consider gross or disturbing.

I kissed him.

But once I realized what I was doing I pulled away and he looked shocked.

"Ummm....I'm....I'm sorry" I said. I crawled under the table and ran out of the restaurant.

"Cariah" he yelled but I ran out.

"Cariah Wait. Slow down" he said. I stopped running and we were already near the car. There was still not many cars in the parking lot.

"Colby I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that. I know you were in love with my mom and I just got caught up in the moment and-" I started but he cut me off.

OKAY!!!! Before the story continues I just want to remind everyone. Yes there's an age gap between Colby and Cariah and yes their ages don't add up with how old Cariah is and how old Colby should be. But I do want to also remind everyone. THIS IS FICTION. And Cariah and Colby are NOT related whatsoever. They have no relation at all or anything.
