17 year old Cariah Colbie will stop at nothing to find Colby Brock and get answers after finding out everything in her life has been a lie. But she ends up finding more than she was looking for.
SEQUEL to Damaged
Cariah and I walked up to the front door of her house. I texted Jackson and told him that I told Cariah everything and I knew he wanted to yell at me. As soon as we walked into the house Jackson was standing in the living room with his arms crossed.
"Cariah go to your room" he said. Cariah went upstairs to her room and I closed the front door behind me.
"Are you out of your fucking mind? You had no fucking right to tell MY daughter anything about the past" he said loudly.
"You've been fucking lying to her her whole life Jackson. The poor girl was crying her eyes out when she found out Jade died. She has a right to know. You can't keep her clueless forever"
"She's MY daughter. And I have the right to keep her as clueless as I want"
"Oh she's your daughter? Where the fuck where you all 9 months when Jade was pregnant? Where the fuck were you when Jade overdosed and you knew she was pregnant? Where the fuck were you when she was born? You didn't even fucking know when she was born you thought she died in the accident with Jade. You know, Colby would have been a way better father than you" I said.
"Well he's not. Because yeah I may have not been there when Jade was pregnant. I may not have been there either times Jade was in the hospital. And I may have not even known Cariah was born. But Colby gave Cariah up to me. I never gave her up. I'm the one who's been here for the past 17 years not Colby"
"I just can't believe you had the fucking audacity to tell her that Jade left you. You had the fucking audacity to tell your daughter that her mom wanted nothing to do with her when you know it was the other way around. And you had the nerve to change her name. You literally took every part of Jade away from her besides the fact that she looks just like her. You're honestly a fucking joke. I can't believe you'd do that to her. I honestly think I love Cariah more than you ever have" I said before I opened the door and left.
Cariah's POV:
"Dad" I said once Crystal left. He looked up at me since I was standing at the stairs.
"What Cariah"
"Why did you lie to me? Why did you change my name?"
"I did what I had to do" he said.
"Do you even love me? Or want me here?" I asked.
"Cariah if I didn't love you do you think I would have bought you that Jeep outside? Do you think you would have had the newest iPhone? Do you think I'd give you all the freedom I do?"
"Dad you cant buy love. Buying me all that stuff doesn't mean you love me" I said.
"Cariah don't use that attitude with me" he said before he walked out of the house. I went back to my room and looked at the pictures that Crystal had given me. They were Polaroid pictures of my mom.

She kept them all these years but felt like I should have them. She also told me that their high school YouTube channel was still up that my mom helped with and was in a few videos so she said I should check them out. I grabbed my laptop and went to YouTube.
'Sanger High School'
The first video that popped up was a video that had my mom and some other guy in the thumbnail.
'Boyfriend VS Girlfriend Mario Kart'
I played it and I instantly smiled seeing my mom. She was such a beautiful woman.
"Colby stop" my mom said to the other guy in the video. Wait. Is that the Colby? The one Crystal told me about? He's a good looking guy so props to my mom.
I scrolled down to the comments and saw there was actually quite a few.
'Who's here after Colby left high school and became a youtuber'
Colby's a youtuber? I kept scrolling through the comments and eventually found out his last name was Brock. So I typed his name into the YouTube search bar. And the first video that popped up was posted 4 years ago.
'I Lost the Love of my Life at 16 (Warning: Very Emotional)'
I clicked on the video and it was the guy from the video with my mom.
"Hey guys Colby Brock here. And today's video is actually going to be very different. I usually like to stay positive and try to keep my videos funny on my channel but so many of you have heard me and the roommates say the names 'Jade' and 'Cariah' and have asked who those people are. And I generally like to be very open and honest with you guys. So with that being said....this is the story of how the love of my life passed away while I was 16"
Colby basically just told the story that Crystal told me and he actually started crying a couple times. It made me tear up.
"Jade always told me "I'll love you till the day I die" and she really did do that. But that's all for this video. I really hope Cariah is doing great with her dad. Last I heard he was very successful which is great. I haven't personally seen her in 17 years since she was a baby and her dad completely blocked me on all social media's so I haven't seen any pictures of her. But I guess I'll end it here. Make sure to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe for more videos. Bye guys. I love you" he said before he ended the video.
That video had my emotions everywhere. Hearing the story from another point of view and hearing how much Colby really loved my mom just made my emotions go everywhere. And that's when I realized.
